Hello Hybridz,
I have few LD28 engines laying around with LD28 V07 crankshafts.
Asking 1000usd including shipping, but excluding possible import taxes/fees.

Looks like a nice product for easy megasquirt swap. Also most of the sensors are included, cool.

Stock L28e uses barbed fittings not O-ring. So neither.

I suggest you read the hardware manual of the chosen version: http://www.msextra.com/manuals/
It gives you the basic understanding.

You can check the CTS by removing the coolant temp sensor plug and use a paper clip (or something equivalent) to connect the two pins in connector (= no resistance). Check also the resitance of the sensor.
I had the same problem with my -75 with similar symptoms. It was a bad CTS.

Just a friendly advice, what are you planning to do? Basic resto or full blown porting/stroker/modding of the engine?
Any basic work should be possible everywhere, mine was done by a boat engine specialist to teach new apprentices on an old engine

Obviously I know there are plenty of good engine shops, but I haven't found yet one that would have reputation on building performance L-engines (similar to US Rebello or Datsun Spirit). However I do remember reading of one here in Europe from this forum but can't seem to find that post anymore.
So yes specialized in performance L-engines.

I don't have aar and I run the coolant bypass the same way you do. Works fine for me.

I couldn't find them anywhere. However they are quite easy to machine and that is what I did. I would strongly recommend removing the hinges. It is annoying work even with them removed.

Hi again. More questions...
Could you guys confirm that if I want sequential injection I will need camshaft angle for MS III&MS3x (Can do this with the jeep CAS). But with only (NO cam angle sensor) the 36-1 trigger wheel I can use batch injection and still use the ms3x board injection outputs? But they just won't inject sequentially.
What I would like to have is a system that would control my fuel and spark (and air to fuel ratio). I would like to use the ms3x outputs for injection and induvitual ignition (ls2 coils). Im buying the needed parts little by little:
- I have bought the 36-1 trigger wheel kit from derek (with edis vr sensor)
- I have wideband O2
- I will need (240sx 2.4?) throttlebody (TPS). Will euro 200sx (sr20det) throttle body do the trick too? Can the L28e tb be used?
- I will need ls2 coilpacks
- I will need ms III and the ms3x with suitable wiring
- What sensors can be used from L28e or do they all need to be replaced with newer sensors (water temp, tps...)? Have people installed knock sensors?

I tried to start a new topic in buy/sell section but for some reason I can't (the button says "you cannot start a new topic").
I'm not looking at making my self rich with these cranks but I would like to get my own costs covered if these cranks are worth selling. For exampe I will build a wooden box for shipping (so the shipping won't damage the shafts). Is the ring in the flywheel flange a problem that means these cranks are worthless?
Could some one with LD stroke experience estimate a reasonable value for these items? 300usd + shipping? 350$?

Hi,
Can anyone who has done the conversion give me a brand name and website for a good two and four fuse blocks? I have a 260z that needs upgrading and down the line a 280z if needed. Leskinen where did you get your block?

I got mine in a Finnish automotive store "motonet". It is just a maxi fuse box for audio use. I can check the brand when I get home.

So this is what I have. Two shafts: both have V07 and V0740 marking on it.
In both cranks there is a small "ring" in the flywheel flange probably caused by oil seal (pictures)? The connecting rod journals and main bearing journals look nice and clean.
Edit: shipping to US would be about 170usd/crank. Would 600usd/each be reasonable prize shipped?
Edit: both have the same markings on them. Uploaded better pics.

Ok. Thanks for the info. Im looking for options how to ms my ignition and injection. This on its own is obviously not the solution (would have been a cheap one). Im thinking of going ms3 with expansion board (induvidual ignition with "smart coil" and sequential ignition. Wideband afr adjustments)...
I guess I just have to try and find a turbo dizzy with optical cas or buy a cranck pulley with toothing. Are there any other possibilities? There are unfortunately few 280zx turbo dizzies/toothed cranck wheels in Europe.

Could be a stupid question but: does the key cut need to be in specific (correct) angle for tdc? Or can you program it to ms3?

Found a fix. You can't use android memes. Apparenty they are not hybridz compatible.

I have two ld cranks. Im not looking at making a great profit here so is anyone interested? If there is intrest I can post few pics. I also have a ld oil pan in working condition but it's not that pretty (got it really cheap).
