  1. Yeah I know what lake pipes are I worked on hot rods and old 50s cars before I got my Z. I think the only thing I can do is get some pipe, put the Z on jackstands and see what fits. I really want to have the exhaust out the side so if the cut out isnt going to work I guess im going to have one loud car cause its coming out the side no matter what lol.

  2. Yeah that is true but the reason I want a cut out is so i can run a side exit exhaust like they do on the GT cars. I like the look but I dont want to have to listen to it all the time. I'll have to look at my Z and get some pipe and see how much room I have to play with.

  3. I like the idea of having side exit though, I havnt really looked but I dont think there is room for a muffler in front of the rear tire. Thats why I was thinking of using a electronic cut out so I can switch between the loud system and the quieter one by just hitting a switch. But it there is room for a muffler right there or a way to run one before the exit point than thats a possiblity.

  4. Hey guys I looked around on the forum but couldnt find anything like this. I want to run a system that splits into 2 seperate systems, one for the track and one for the street. I was thinking of using a electronic cutout to split the system. It would be a strait pipe from the downpipe back to about the rear tires and then one pipe would continue out the side of the car in front of the rear tire that would have no muffler or anything of the sort, and the other one would continue to the back like normal but would be hidden and have a muffler and resonator. What do you guys think? would this work? Also would I have to run 2 different tunes depending on what part of the exhaust im using? Or could I switch them back and forth whenever I want. Thanks for any help!!

  5. That doesnt look that bad, Im not to familiar with those cars but it seems like it shouldnt be that hard to fix. Also I doubt that its totaled so as hard as it might be i would suggest just sittin down and trying to chill out. The accident already happened and it will get taken care of by either her insurance or the classic insurance.

  6. No matter what they say it wasnt your fault, she hit you from behind so no matter what its her fault. And since you have classic insurance on the car it should be taken care of. Just make sure you get all the info you can from her and her insurance company and also go through the classic insurance company also. They deal with old classics all the time so im sure they can tell you the proper steps to take to get it taken care of. And yes go to the hospital and get checked out, it sound like you have some neck injuries and if so her insurance will hacve to pay for that also.

  7. Cool I like that Color but it seems pretty similar to NATO green and I think I can get the NATO green a bit easier. I tried to get paint from my squadron when I was in the NAVY and that was tough but maybe it was because it was the laser detection resistant paint.... hmmm.. lol. Either way i'll keep looking into that and the NATO paint.

  8. Yeah I totally agree, I always get stuck behind the computer because they dont know how to brake properly. And as for the AI ramming goes I usually try to stay away from the pack in the first corner haha they always wreck my car and I hate having a messed up looking car when I race :P

  9. Ok so I messed around with the carbs a little bit today and i adjusted the lean/rich as stated above and it ran but it was still really choppy and hesitant. If I enrichen the mix it starts to smoke pretty bad and if i lean it out at all it runs really bad. I tried messing with the Timing but it didnt seem to make any difference. Im going to look into it more this weekend once the weather clears up. Anything else I should look into?

  10. Hey guys I just installed my new S.U. Roundtops and I cant figure out how to tune them. It starts and idles but its a really low idle and if you give it gas and let off it dies instead of dropping back to idle. I'm assuming its a fuel starvation issue but I cant seem to figure out how to tune them :P and none of the shops in the area know anything about these carbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
