  1. Just curious as to what dwell settings worked well for you, I am also using a stock distributor and having a similar problem under boost.
  2. Ok no problem here is a zip file with my msq and logger files. CurrentTune.zip
  3. Here's what I get using the composite logger.
  4. I've confirmed that the wiring to my dizzy is correct and I am getting a signal from it, but could I have a bad dizzy that's giving an incorrect or intermittent signal that's causing the sync errors?
  5. Yes I do and when the RPM switch on the stim is set to NPN the ecu is synced and operates perfectly, however with the switch on PNP I get nothing at all.
  6. '82 turbo dizzy MSII controlling fuel and spark (3.2.1 release firmware) Trying to get my car started on MSII, it will fire and run for about 2 seconds then dies. But I have not gotten TunerStudio to sync with ecu at all. I haven't been able to find anyone's ignition settings for the latest release of firmware (3.2.1) but I here is what I have it set as now. Spark mode: Basic trigger Trigger Angle/Offset: 60 Skip pulses: 3 Ignition Input Capture: Rising Edge Spark Output: Going High (Inverted) Number of coils: Single Spark A output pin: JS10 I'm guessing that because the ecu is not synced it is cutting spark or fuel after just a couple of seconds, any help would be greatly appreciated.
  7. PM sent regarding fuel rail order. Thanks
  8. Ok thanks Xnke thats exactly what I needed to know
  9. Anyone out there running a stock 75-76 head with stock valve seats? If so are you having any problems?
  10. No just a temporary fix until I do a turbo swap, old N47 head had a broken exhaust stud and the N42 was laying around. I'm gonna spend the money for a good coated header and since the N42 flows a little better it just makes sense to do a valve job and drop it in.
  11. Hey thanks BluDestiny it'll be easy enough to check if they are brass. If they are will it harm the head or valves to run on unleaded fuel?
  12. Ok thanks for the reply, I pulled this head several years ago off of a junk car so I cannot remember the year model. Are there any casting numbers or anything that would tell me if it is a '76?
  13. Hey guys, I've got a stock N42 head that I'm gonna put on my 78 280z. Some people have told me that the N42 heads do not have hardened valve seats because they were designed to be run on leaded fuel. Its a pretty expensive machining job to have new ones pressed in and every machine shop I've talked to says they already have hardened seats, but some guys in my local club say they do not. I've been searching on here and other forums and talking to other people and I'm getting different answers. Thanks for the help
  14. Does anyone have a spare 280z rear stub axle laying around? I desperately need one please pm me if you have one. thanks
  15. I've got a 78 280z that I'm lowering about 1.5in with lowering springs and I'm wondering if would be possible to run 17x9's in the rear without flaring or rolling the fenders?
  16. Hey i have a 78 280z that sat for several years and water leaked into the passenger side floor from a hole in the windshield gasket. I have plenty of resources available to fab up my own custom pans, and new frame rails with square tubing. My question is would i need to brace the chassis to keep it from flexing while i cut out the old frame rails?
  17. bajaracer! i think the only part i need is the brackets, and i sent you an email about the paypal request.
  18. Would the 190lph walbro be any quieter than the 255lph (gsl392)?
  19. Im considering doing the swap and just put a walbro gsl392 in my car feeding the stock L28, but I think the pump could possibly be bad or the pump is just normally extremely loud. I understand that this pump will be louder than stock but this one is unusually loud and if its not fried Im going to find another pump. Any other good pumps worth checking out?
  20. Does anyone know of a source for the 81-84 Maxima rear caliper brackets for the 280zx caliper swap on a 280z. I have checked every junkyard in my area and found nothing. Also does anyone have a template for making your own brackets for this swap.
  21. I got it from summit racing, and they usually have no problem with returning parts
  22. I recently ordered a brand new Walbro 255lph GSL392 and put on a basically bone stock 78 280z. I'm having an electrical problem that cuts the pump off when the engine gets hot, possibly the stock fusible links, but anyway I know the pumps are supposed to be louder than the stock pump, but this one is the loudest fuel pump I've ever heard. I wrapped two layers of foam rubber insulation around it and there was little to no change. When I wired it up for the first time I checked the wires with a meter to find positive and ground, but I must have got a bad reading and the pump was wired up backwards and ran several times before I figured out the problem. Could this have fried the pump? cliff notes: Brand new Walbro 255lph GSL392 extremely loud, accidently ran in reverse for several minutes, could this have fried the pump?
