Its this venturi effect that cause a low pressure point that enables downforce.
Almost right.. the lower the car is to the ground, the velocity will increase.. which reduces pressure. High pressure creates lift.. in this situation.. lift is reduced.

man i love decel pops.. sounds awesome

the screens available at home depot are: fiberglass, vinyl coated nylon or aluminum.
I would not recommend any of them for your application lol.

im assuming he/she is dead

Mark,
The respect I have for you is overwhelming! Superb work so far

thats the one reason I decided to go for ATC vs the pilot route anymore.. the pay. I have friends at Great Lakes Airlines that make $16 an hour but 75 hours a month.. so thats $1,300 before income taxes!!

if i was filming a car show, wouldnt you want to get a good shot of the engine bay?! I wonder what excuse he used, or if the show didnt bother to ask what a ferrari v12 looks like in a old GTO

Yes I heard that plane leaks alot from the panels constantly shrinking and expanding from the atmospheric pressures. I also heard it theoretically has an unlimited top speed.
We need SR71 trivia sheet!
The body panels are made to fit loosely because of the body panel expansion from the heat generated by friction of air at high speeds and high pressure air on the leading edges of the surfaces. (awful run on sentence sorry)
=)

John,
you answered my question. im dumb. =)
your right!!

that is without a doubt a Datsun..
especially the sound of the engine. lordy.. why lie.. seriously

i would love to ask, why would you want to weld aluminum to steel?! but this thread was dated to 2006 and the thread was started by someone who no longer visits the board
-
I LOVE it!!
Pet peeve... this thread is titled "Nuremberg ring video" .. its Nürburgring.
Nuremburg is a town in Germany.. quite a bit away from the nurburgring

DSM guys are so innovative. Love it.

my previous owner paid to have rust repair done on my car..
After sanding through nearly 1/4" thick bondo, I found the shop pop riveted on a piece of aluminum right over the old rust, that wasnt cut out or neutralized. Then after looking at the frame rails, the shop laid cardboard over the rust and coated it in a very thick tar that hardened and "looked" like a rock solid install after hitting it with a wrench. I jacked up the car on this "patch" and to blow me away, the piece fell off .. haha.
After lifting the carpet everything looked fine, after lifting the sound deadening.. there was rust.
Really gotta be careful with a "rust-free" car lol.

Im interested to see what Tony D has to say about this.. "turbo lag"
Where did the magic number of 5 psi come from?!
There are quite a bit of fallacies in this post with poor information and grammar.
Would you mind cleaning this up a little bit and maybe explaining your product in more detail rather then telling us how and why you feel a blow off valve works?!

whats wrong with ground control or arizona z car??

any relation as to why cooking pots and pans are coated/painted black?! Maybe the black radiates the heat more efficiently to transfer to the food or cooking material better then a different color?!
Am I on the right track?!

a surge tank mounted INSIDE the car!? eep.. scary
-
John,
Thank you for taking the time to reply in such detail. Excellent input =)

I agree with you. I figured finding a fairly clean 240z for around $5,000 plus $15,000 in labor and parts for the RB swap is a probably a good middle of the road guestimate. But your right, chassis reinforcement, paint and rust repair and suspension upgrades, etc will easily add up well over $20,000

I really appreciate everyone input. I'm not necessarily looking for internet approval, rather I'm looking to hear feedback from people with experience.
I've concluded that the S30 is not the right car to have as a street-able caged car... in the pics I posted its obvious that newer cars allow more head room and more space to mount a roll cage with out any issues with head room.
I've decided to go with a half cage for my purposes. Thank you everyone!!
-
Does anyone have any experience sitting in a seat similar to this?! With a taller rear upright and the side head bolsters I am hoping that if I had a full cage, these side bolsters would limit my head from smacking the cage and instead restricted my head movement... and the bolsters/support are cut away to improve visibility?!

Excellent point about the foam John!
I cut a chunk out of my frame rails and even though it was "sealed", there was still surface rust inside of the rails. It would be close to impossible to clean all that off INSIDE the rails to get the foam to stick.
Forced induction USING air compressor?
in Miscellaneous Tech
Posted
lets use this as an example..
I have a 60 gallon 1/2 horsepower compressor that maybe flows 90psi at 10 CFM.
A descent 3.0L engine with 100% volumetric efficiency can pull up to 1,300 CFM
Its not possible to have any beneficial gains with a small compressor. Now recycling exhaust gases to generate positive pressure in the engine is free power.. turbochargers are awesome.
