  1. Thank you for posting all this good info. I finally picked up my F150 axles at an O'Reilly's distribution store, and they came out to $55.99 each, part # 60-2112 (remans), but with limited lifetime warranty. $10 core charge each, and $10.99 tax. They have the Ford stamps on them. However, I found an incredible bargain for the Intrepid hubs at RockAuto so ordered from there...$36.51 for two, and that includes $8.99 shipping.
  2. I searched the topic, but didn't find mention of Tokico. Is there anything that would prevent use of the Tokico 5-way adjustable struts with this kit? I think this is a good picture of the Illumina BZ3013 rear 280z strut I currently have in my car. Oh shoot, it looks like the dimensions are way off... Product Dimensions 27.5 x 3 x 3 inches Whereas, the Koni part shows... Extended Length: 21.260''' Collapsed Length:15.240'' Body Diameter: 1.713'' What are the exact dimensions of the custom strut tube?
  3. Thanks for that idea, @bramagedained I'm also wondering if I can get the TTT big rear brake kit to work with Will's kit since I have 15x8 Weld Draglites, 5.5" backspacing. That one has an e-brake option. https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/280z/rear-big-brake-kit-240z-260z-and-280z
  4. Does anyone think this kit would work with Will Fritt's Ford 8.8 IRS diff kit, in place of the Wilwood 12.2" rotors? I have need of an e-brake and use 15x8 Weld Draglites with lots of negative backspacing.
  5. Great writeup with pics, thanks for sharing. I'm finally gathering up parts now to go at it. Question: Could that bolt be worked without putting a hole in the spare tire well? I've got a '75 with the same type as a 260z I think. Something I guess I am just realizing after re-reading this thread and looking for parts...I guess there is a parking brake delete when going with Wilwood stuff? If so then I'll need to do something different. I gotta have a parking brake. :/
  6. I went to car-part.com and found a local yard selling a few...picked up a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer "3L73" IRS 8.8. It's at the shop getting gears. Same shop that will be making my driveshaft later
  7. Haha I've been here for awhile. Oh, and I got it punched out to 427 after sleeving, and less compression. My build took 2 frustrating years. The current setup should've been for last year, but oh well I'm glad I got to drive it for a little bit last week. But on topic, I'm glad to see this is picking up again...hope I'm not too late!
  8. I picked up a '73 240z and had problems getting the shifter in gear at stops. Made an adjustment from 6 free threads to 4 on the screw/bolt and got completely locked out so I went the other way to 8 free threads. That worked great until I guess the system heated up during downtown light to light driving. It needed more adjustment. Hope that helps in some way?
  9. Wow! I'm so late seeing this topic... Excellent initiative, great engineering, outstanding work, good communication, follow through, etc. Not sure I understand everything, but I've read it all and am ready to dive in and work out the details if you're going to do a second run, wfritts911. Did you ever get a weight on the whole assembly? How does it compare to the stock assembly? The Q-45 setup? PM sent as well!
  10. Man, I haven't been here in quite awhile and came upon this first thing tonight. Very sad turn of events. I bought some parts from him about 4 yrs ago. May he rest in Peace
  11. Wowi!! Niiice How much power/torque is it putting down? Weight? How much do you weigh? lol
  12. I don't have any good direct pics of the new stuff installed, but here are a couple of albums with various shots. I just uploaded some for this post: http://s1133.beta.photobucket.com/user/ls30w00/library/Tx2k12%20Prep http://s1133.beta.photobucket.com/user/ls30w00/library/280Z%20Stub%20Axles http://s1133.beta.photobucket.com/user/ls30w00/library/1977%20280Z%20Pics You can see just the outside hub and new studs here...just uploaded: http://i1133.photobucket.com/albums/m589/ls30w00/280Z%20at%20SAR%20Midnight%20Madness%2020121222/DSC01136_zps9f9b0bb1.jpg Yes. Still working on that ideal balance between bog and spin for this setup...looks like somewhere around 3500
