  1. I have a 350 SBC in my 78' 280Z. I bought it with the old wires that are on it now, and they are too short...they reach, but they are routed all over the top of the motor to get to the plugs. I was wondering what set to get from Accel or similar that will allow routing them around the valve covers and along side them to the plugs.
  2. I think my 2nd gear syncro must be worn, because it will grind if I try to shift fast from 1st to 2nd.
  3. I was thinking the same thing, cause it gets pretty darn hot under the exhaust manifold.
  4. Wow....great info! Thanks. It does sound like the gauge is bad, because I did measure the resistance at the sensor and it was reading around 170 degrees ( according to the chart that your link went to) when the gauge said it was 200+
  5. I agree, but think I am going to run a entirely seperate circuit with a new cheap gauge and if needed a GM sending unit.
  6. Its with my car that was up to temp an hour before hand, but had been sitting since then.

So my car had been sitting for about an hour after taking a test drive to see if the new temp sensor would fix my high temp readings(which it seemed to for a little while and then it seemed to go back to reading hot), and I turn the key on and my cooling fan goes on because I have the fan thermostat turned all the way down to where I think it clicks on at 95 degrees, and I watch the temp gauge come up to halfway ....and I thought WHAT!!! theres no way it could still be that hot! and then for shits I turn on the headlights ( because I somehow thought that the draw on the electrical system was tied into it reading high) and the temp goes up almost to 3/4....so I double checked and I could make the temp go up and down with the lights....Anyone ever heard of something like this happening? I just replaced my temp sensor thinking that it was the problem(running hot), but noticing this, there seems to be other demons at work. Any ideas besides the obvious that it might be a short somewhere?
  8. I just bought this car a month or so ago, and am in process of learning all of the details and info on an SBC-Z. The tranny has ATF fluid in it right now, but I wanted to make sure that it was supposed to.
  9. My T-5 is out of an 84 camaro...would it be the same as the ZXT T-5 as far as recommended fluid? Thanks.
  10. Thanks Dave...I was just double checking it since the coolant temperature reading I was taking and the engine temperature gauge werent consistent.
  11. Should ATF go in a non w/c T-5 as well as a w/c T-5? I did a search and didnt see anything about non w/c T-5's recomended fluid. Thanks.
  12. Does anyone know what a stock L6 temp sending unit is supposed to read in millivolts in relation to the coolant temperature?

  14. Ali, Yes it is rotating the right direction. BTW your car looks great! any rolling video yet?
  15. I dont think I have bled the system...I have run it until it was warm with the cap off to confirm that the coolant was flowing through the radiator, but I'm not sure what else I could do to bleed it.
  16. Since I am a little stumped as to why my car is running hot I thought I would show a picture of the set up to see what you guys could gather from looking at it. I have a lot of information on what I have checked so far but I wanted to ask if there is anything obvious that would explain why it runs too hot (3/4+ on the stock temp gauge).
  17. Can you tell me the outside dimensions of the Taurus fan (including the shroud)?
