  1. Well this has turned into a saga now. I made an attachment to run fuel from drain plug hole and am still having the same problem. Fuel pressure drops off in a couple of minutes driving. If I close the restricter valve a little I can get it back up, but it ventually goes back down to 0. There is a little sediment in the new clear filter element before the pump, but it hardly looks like enough to plug it. This is driving me Fing crazy! Again my set up is... gas tank-filter-holly blue fuel pump-filter-triple carbs-gate valve(for back pressure)-return to tank. I must be doing something stupid...This is so simple yet It isnt working. HELP!
  2. How did you know the sock was clogged? Did you have sediment in the tank?
  3. I dropped the tank today to see if there was sediment build up blocking pick up but it looks new inside of tank. I figure I needed to replace those 30yr old hoses under there anyway. I blew out all connections to tank with air and rinsed out with water. I am running the fuel to carbs and then back through return line. Should I just dead head it? Wont that damage the fuel pump? AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

I ran a bigger gauge wire right from accesory power tothe pump and grounded it with heavy gauge also.I taped my pressure gauge to the hood and drove a couple minutes fine and then saw it drop to zero, it stayed there until I got home. Right when I pulled in I looked at the glass fuel filter in the engine bay and it was gurgling a few drops of fuel. I ran to the back of the car and heard the pump running and saw fuel in the rear inlet filter but it had air in it too. I dont know what this means. I had drained gas out of the tank a few days ago to test a pump on the bench and it poured right out. It is a mystery to me.
  6. So you are saying I should replace the wiring from the relay back? 10AWG is huge! Have you had this same problem? The pump is only supposed to draw 3amps! : I also am not clear on why a relay is a must. It could be switched...It doesnt hurt to run the pump for a few seconds before and after running on a return set up does it?
  7. I have been having this problem over the last couple of years. Sometimes the fuel pump shuts off. I have replaced fuel pumps and am running a holley blue. My car is a 260z with an L28 triple dellorto set up. Should I just wire to 12v and put a switch in? This is really getting annoying so any help would be great.
  8. I am planning on puttin thez31 zxt coil into my 260 with an 80zx l28 tripple N/A with 80 zx dist. Am I gonna have any trouble?
  9. Is there a disadvatage to painting the engine bay a flat black(or satin). I am wondering about heat and the the look if anyone has done it.
  10. Where is the best place to buy a coil for my application? I dont need a rev limiter do I?
  11. I just installed Tokico illuminas and Tokico srings that are supposed to lower 1-1.5 in. Do I need to alighn? What does that involve besides tie rod adjustment?
  12. the eclips eseats I had were narrow with side suppurt and didnt fit. I am talking a bout a 260z of course. 8)
  13. I think I might take the eclipse seats back...I measured them before I bought them but didnt take into consideration the thickness of the upright portion of the seat. They dont leave any room to go back and I would have to cut into the mounts on the floor to get them low enough. My fault eventhough a couple people suggested them for the Z. AAAARRRGGGHHH!!!

  15. Just bought a set out of a 91 eclipse...Nice seats...a little to high but there is room to lower seat support with out too much cutting. I am 6ft. too. Nice adjusments and side support.
  16. What would be the best Hi Po coil to put into a 260z with a 1980 L28 with 40mm tripple carbs and engine mods? It has the zx distributor on it still. I just disconnected the ballast resistor.
  17. Went to the JY today and saw some really nice Talon seats...I think they were out of a 93...Measurements look good...think I might buy them
  18. well...I am always trying to cut the prices down on everything...before I spend enough to own a new 350z...ya know... Looking for an effective seat for few dineros
  19. Any Ideas on this? My seats are tired and not adequate for the G's.
  20. so what is a good spring for a z that is on the track three times a year and on the street for the rest of the time?
  21. I am just wondering why spring companies are offering progressive springs for z application when soo many of you guys say they suck.
