  1. I tried using the msd tach adaptor 1st and didn't work. I found an old thread that said to use a 280z tach with modification and it worked. Here's the link good luck!! http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/66137-how-to-modify-a-280z-tach-to-work-with-msd-for-free/

    N42 head

Looking for a good rebuildable n42 head.
  3. Thanks for the reply! I'll check the charging system tonight. By the way I'm running a internal voltage regulator alternator if that matters. Also I've been doing more research and I found some people added a diode or resistor. I haven't done this. So I'm reading up on it but I don't see where I need to add this.
  4. Hope someone can help!! I have a 73 240z with L28, Malory unllite, msd coil (that requires no ballast). Tach is working fine. I installed 6al now no tach. So I been reading through threads and found I need a tach adaptor. I installed the msd 8920 and now everything works... So I think!! At idle it works. Rev it up it works!! Redline it still works!!! Problem occurs once I start driving. I would take off and tach seems to work fine than once I get up to speed and change gears it would go back up normally than just drop to zero and stay there till I'm almost to a complete stop. When it drops to zero it's not at any specific rpm or speed. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!!
  5. Sorry forgot to mention tach was working great up until I installed 6al and msd tach adapter.
  6. I have a 73 240z with a F54/P90 combo, tripple webers & msa 6 to 1 headers. i installed a msd 6al, unllite distributor, msd coil & 8920 msd tach adaptor. I wired the tach adaptor according to one of the tach threads and I got my tach to work. Here's my issue... At idle its fine and reading correctly. I rev it up still works good. Even rev to red line still working great!! But the problem occurs once I start driving. Take off in 1st up to about 2500rpm then shift to 2nd rpm would go back up normally than all of a sudden drop to zero and stay at zero until I almost come to a complete stop. Anyone have any ideas or had the same problems?? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!
  7. Looking for a pair of door panels in any condition that will fit a 73 240z . Thanks!
  8. I'm running the bigger toyota calipers with no problem. There finned S12's with vented rotors. Give a few days and i'll post some pictures.
  9. I basically didnt do my homework!! I just rebuilt my engine(f54 block p79 head) and it worked great! I'm currently running it with triples, headers & ignition. I recently came across a P90 head thinking i would create more hp, but ended up slower then my last setup. I had the head rebuilt, matched ported & polished the intake & exhaust. I was thinking it was a installation error so i did a leak down test & compression test. I found no leaks but I only had 120 psi across the board!! I have a F54 block with stock flat top pistons. I'm pretty sure i'm running the wrong setup. what head should i use to get the most power? sorry , i forgot to mention i'm running a stage 3 cam from motorsports. I was looking around and i saw E88 & E31. Is this correct?
