  1. Ive started my wiring saga. Ive got the 6 stock injectors plugs ready to wire to the EK6 Harness.

The loom digram for the injectos has 7 wires

    -DIG OUT1

    -DIG OUT2

    -13.8VDC INJ

    -INJ1

    -INJ2

    -INJ3

    -ING4

Im going to be doing batch firing on my JZ, 3 injectors output firing 2 injectors each.

Each injector pair has 2 black wires and a common white. Do INJ1-4 provide a ground and I should run the negatives of the pairs to them and wire all the whites to the larger 13.8vdc wire?

Not a total idiot, but Im having a difficult time on this one.

This help point me towards the wiring order, maybe help someone answer my problem?

The E6K can only provide 4 fuel outputs, therefore it cannot control each cylinder’s injection

on an engine with more than 4 cylinders. For 6 or 8 cylinder engines, the E6K can operate in a

semi-sequential mode. With the Ign / By set to 2, each injection will occur once per engine

cycle. The injectors need to be paired to cylinders adjacent in the firing order. For example,

on a six cylinder engine with firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4, the injectors would be paired to fuel

    channels as follows :

    Channel 1 INJ1/INJ2 cyl 1 and cyl 5

    Channel 2 INJ3/INJ4 cyl 3 and cyl 6

Channel 5 Digital Out 2 cyl 2 and cyl 4

  2. Hey guys, Ive got the 1jz mounted in the Z, now its time to start thinking about wiring and Vacuum lines.

Im looking for some info on what the most basic Vacuum lines would be. I searched for threads but didnt really find anything. Im just running an Alt and Waterpump. No AC or PS. Running a single turbo and Haltech ECU, No EGR.

    I will need

    - Brake Booster

    - MAP sensor

    - Vacuum/Boost Gauge

    - PCV Valve

    - ?

I dont where what lines run to where on the manifold, any help would be great.

    Thanks Guys

  3. I have a 1jz and got this ecu and harness setup with the car, nothings installed but I have a few questions.

    - Will I need to purchase a separate ignition module?

    - When wiring the injectors, the manual shows 2 injectors per injector output from ECU (aka, INJ1 wire goes to injector 1 and 2, INJ2 goes to injector 3 and ect) Would I be using Multiport Injection and having all injectors fire at once? (and is this the normal set up of the stock ECU for injector firing?)

Multipoint injection fires all the injectors together. This is the most common set-up and will normally be used on engines with multipoint injection manifolds (one injector per cylinder).

Ill have more questions later as its my first time wiring and programming an aftermarket ECU, but getting these thigns off my mind will help :)

  4. I think there is directions on the tube right?

I think tube direction is to let it start to set with it figner tight then torque, but i think with the oil pan having a machined surface and recesses for the stuff it might be different. Ill fill it with oil tomorro and hope for the best. I got the motor 80% ready to go now, need to do the intake and exhaust manifold then and various lines and such.

    New Question! (hoary! right?)

I got the crank pulley off my donnor engine and onto the new one with a little help from a chain strap wrench and a few feet of pipe + me on the end.

    1) How will i ever get it back to 275 ft lbs (crank pully Bolt)? I got an electric impact, is my only option more or less an air gun?

    2) Is there a method to prepping the oil system/pump now that its installed?

or do I just fill the crank case with oil and start manually turning it over?

    3) Does anyone know where I may find an assembly drawing of the 1jz? Im mostly looking for the location of all the pipes and vacuum lines.

    4) Anyone have a list of the torque specs for the 1jz or remember what the manifold are torqued to?

    5) When setting the timing I lined the crank to 0, and the cams inline with with white painted ridge on the cam cover plate, is this right? as it looks every so slightly off.

    6) What the trick to getting the pressure plate unhook from the input shaft of the trans? (i just unbolt it from the flywheel for now)

P.s. here are some teaser pics Im posting as pre-payment for the help :P

  5. Sorry for the added topic but ive hit a couple snags rebuilding the motor with no instructions or manual.

    1) intake and exhaust manifold torque spec?

    2) I got a rebuilt water pump to go on (well its on at the moment) The guy punched out a few gaskets, one that fits between the two pieces of the pump and one that fits between the block and pump (but it blocks contact of the O ring to the water pump's surface. Is this second one necessary? (they are like a paper gasket material)

    3) When installing the oil pump and rear main seal you need to coat the mating surfaces with sealant correct? I did this but tightened them down right after not really giving any item to cure/set, is this the wrong idea, and I should redo it?

    4) Did the same thing with the oil pan, coating the mating surface with RTV but didn't give it time to set before installing it, redo time?

    Thanks for any help.

  6. Im in the process of rebuilding my JZ and I see in a PDF I got that on cam cap 1 (large one at the end) your suposed to use some gasket maker on the mating surface. Can anyone confrim this or let me know their experiences with it?

so you could just cover the entire mating surface? there are 2 channels that run on bottom of the cam cap that would get plugged and i'd think the excess would get into the journal as well as throw off the gap? Just seemed odd in those respects.

    Thanks guys

  7. thanks for the confirmation, i talked to my electic prof. today and confirmed the wiring.

Ive got this plug here sitting in front of me

    31212_lg.jpg

The prongs on the top and bottom are live, and the l shaped one is ground?

  8. Ive got a 230V 20amp Mig welder I have wired to a 3 prong 230 VAC plug. Ive moved houses and dont have access to a 3 prong outlet anymore, only a 30 amp 4 prong dryer outlet. Ive been doing soem reseach and I dont think Ill have any issues with overloading the circut but I need to fidn the correct way to wire it

    Welder:

    Black: Hot

    White: Neutral

    Green: Ground

    4 Prong Plug:

    1 Ground, 1 Neutral, 2 Hot (correct?)

What the easiest way to convert the plug, replace the 3 prong with a 4 prong and wire the two Hot lines to the single Black of the welder?

    Thanks,

P.S. Hey, Ive got a nice 1jz 240z project on the go, Ill post when ive got some juicy pics.
