  1. iv daily drivin mine sence march with no serious problems. just a few blown fuses leaving me stranded. f

I have a 1975 280z with a l28et swap in it. today i went to start my car and all it would do was crank but no starting.. so i checked to see if i was getting fuel pressure and i had about 40 psi. so then i checked to see if the ecu was turning on, but the light was off, then i checked my coil and i was getting no spark out of it at all. anybody have a similar problem? I didnt have a light tester on me so i couldnt tell if i was getting any power out of anything. but im gonna try that tomorrow. thanks in advanced for any help given!   3. i have a Fuel Pressure gauge, and it holds about 35 psi fp. I think one or two of my injectors are clogged though, and im looking for a place localy that rebuilds them. Yeah ill play around with that stuff again. first thing i tryed was the knock sensor, cause thats what i thought it was too, but no difference when its unpluged. By the way Im considering doing a standalone, is their any recommendations u could give me?
  4. yeah its temporary till i get the engine running straight then im gonna get the exhaust made, my money takes the level of importance pathway if u know what i mean.

  6. During acceleration it hesitates and misfires. But it only does it when its warmed up.. Bone stock l28et Swaped into a S30 280z Have not gotten a downpipe yet, so im not running an O2 sensor right now. Could that possibly be the problem? Iv tryed 3 Different types of spark plugs and nothing helped. Iv replaced the coil Iv replace the TPS the AFM moves freely (no snags) and the contacts are clean. I would like to finish this car, but i dont know where to start.

  8. Fuel Pump is brand new, so i hope thats not it. I wanted to do a filter before the pump but i couldnt find one with a big enough inlet and outlet. Same Results when O2 is unplugged. Sorry everybody waiting for a reply, i haven't been on in a couple of days.
  9. Setup, Stock L28et in a S30z. I went for my first test drive sence i bought the car, and the first full throttle run, spun 1st with no effort. a Minute later, my friend went for a quick run and as soon as it gets to boost i dies out. I would consider Fuel, but i let it sit for a few minutes to let it cool down, and give it another try, and i have power again. I have a stock 280zx radiator with a (Small) single electric fan. Is their a posibility the ECU is keeping it from Reving up high to keep from engine damage. By the way i dont have the temp gauge hooked up so i can tell how hot its actual getting (working on it tomorrow).
  10. the regulator thats on it now came off my NA motor, i just put it on too get it started, but for some reason it jams itself shut sometimes. It seams like all the fuel lines need to be replaced so im gonna do that

Replaced the injectors with skyline rb20 one my friend had laying around, kinda ghetto looking but it worked beautifully! started her up and sounded amazing! but now i got a new problem, i keep blowing up the fuel line before the filter in the engine bay, problem lies in the FPR so im gonna get a shiny adjustable one. my radiator started leaking too so im gonna replace it.

I have a Datsun 280z with a turbo l28 swap (just got running yesterday) and went to bleed out the clutch, and when i went to loosen the bleeder screw it sheared right off, so i replace the slave Cylinder. So today i again went to bleed the clutch with the new slave cylinder and i couldn't get it to move the clutch for more than a 1 millimeter. the master cylinder looks fairly new, an i couldn't find any leaks. And the clutch pedal was fully adjusted out. Any ideas what the problem could be?
  13. yeah that makes sences, i had a fealing the problem was in fuel. cause when i tested for spark, every plug shocked the Sh*% out of me. ha
  14. success!!! i wired up the coil and the fuel pump, and gave it a crank, what do u know it started right up. but for some reason it only ran on Cyl 1 and 2. but before i knew it, it was on all 6. but i don't have a down pipe so its running kinda rich, but i managed to hang the o2 sensor behind the turbo, and it helped a little for some reason.. w/e just a temporary fix..

  16. yeah i know, iv already learned that. I was gonna originally pay 500 for it, but because the starter seized up i couldn't do a compression test, so i offered 300 for everything and he went for it, soo i still saved 200 bucks so i cant argue that much.. ha
  17. I have the ZX turbo unit, i just need to figure out what wires go where..ha and what kind of tolerance can they take before they go bad, because mine got pretty banged up.

My friend with a big block Drag nova told me the same thing about its enough compression and i wont see much of a difference in performance either.. so i think im gonna go that route, If anything iv been hearing alot of good about that ENGINE Restore oil additive and ill give it a try after i get it running! By any chance, can i use the stock N/A coil already wired into the car, cause i guess i cut the harness for the turbo one and now i have no idea how im supposed to hook it up because theirs no plug and thats what i have the diagram for.....
  19. Mine is a non Hydraulic head, and i was gonna try to track down a leak down tester today, my auto store used to rent them but when i went their last night they didn't even sell them anymore..

Completed wet test today and the results as follow... compression test before wet test... after test. 100 ...................... 130 150...................... .170 160 ...................... 175 150 ...................... 175 115...................... .138 120...................... .140 i started with cylinder 6 so the last one is 1. So i believe the problem is the ring, or at least most of the problem... i guess im ripin the motor back out and doing a rebuild.... IF their is any lesson learned, don't go by what somebody say when you buy something, make sure for yourself.. at least i got a pretty good deal on my motor.. Now does anyone know where to find a cheap complete rebuild kit for a L28et??

  23. I actual just got the engine and installed it on Friday of last week, i was told the compression was 135 -140 across, so i wanted to double check those #'s (i was expecting a rebuild soon.) When i did the test the fuel injection wasn't even hooked up yet and spark plugs were out only the starter was hooked up. so i wasn't washing any oil away or getting false readings. But Before i did the test i checked to make sure their was oil in the motor and it looked suprisingly clean but smelt of gas and was quite thin.. im going to finish wiring it in and do a leak down tomorrow and make a junk yard run to get a new speedo sensor so i can fill the tranny.. ill keep everyone updated. and thanks for the help everybody!
  24. This is my first Post on Hybrid so don't criticize me too much... Tonight i did a compression test on my "newly" Bought L28et, and it didn't exactly go how i wanted it too... Cylinder 2 and 6, 100psi, all the rest were between 145 and 155. I need to know where to start.. anybody else have a common problem and a solution to fix it?? i just don't want to tear down the motor to find out i just need to adjust the valves or something stupid like that.
