[Chevy SBC power steering '73Z]

For all you lucky folks with power steering in your V8 Z, I need your help!

 

I bought a SBC V8 swapped '73 Z recently and its a pretty clean and well done swap with P/S and A/C both installed. BUT, the power steering has a little quirk. When the wheel is turned to full lock on either side, the car makes the most horrible grinding noise accompanied by some rattling in the steering. I am completely stumped and I've checked the power steering fluids and it isn't running low.

 

If anyone can help out, that would be greatly appreciated!

I currently have a 305 SBC in my car, what do you suggest I do to get the most power out of my engine while still making it my daily driver?
