  1. Showing a little from my build... I was a little anal and used the factory hold downs also.

The fuel rail does come close to the thermostat housing, but a 45* turn solved that for me...

Braap - I really like the looks of the quality from the rails shown. My rail took quite a bit of massaging... looking towards your rail if do begin to produce. (For another build)

  2. Well, I can not top all the Information you guys have with the SR-71's paint, but I might have something close...

Sport Compact Car had an article with some Dyno Plots and showing a few different scenarios of; What effect Spray Painting the Intercooler might have in a real world situation. As some stuff SHOULD work in theory, it sometimes doesn’t turn out that way. I will try to dig up the magazine, but if someone else read this, please chime in.

  3. Hey Sparky,

I will be the same boat your in; hopefully in a few weeks! Just need to finish installing my EZ-wiring kit and finish up the Haltech. But anyways...

These links helped me figure out and cleared up the confusion I had about the "Dizzy Setup." Hope this helps; Also, if you do get any maps, could you send them my way too?

  4. As for the catch can idea; I bought a cheap catch can off of Ebay, Drilled a hole in the top center. (for a breather filter) Routed the other two holes to the block and valve cover. You could even use Braided Line. Looks nice and pretty. : )

Didn't want a filter to get oil every where. Also the catch can was something like $25 and is polished.

  5. I received these fittings today. they are not correct for the car. The thread is tapered but they still fit inside the threads on the T block. there is just a tiny bit of slop... the threads do not even begin to engauge. There are no other BSPT fittings!

Geez, I am a moron. I didn't realize your were asking a question in your earlier post; I thought you were just stating some part numbers.

  6. In MD, For Historic Tags; There is just a limit on the amount of mileage a year. Something like, 2500. But I don’t see how they can check that. I had historic tags for about 2 years and not once, was I asked about mileage. I assume the Hot Rod tags are the same. Oh, and after 25 years old, (on Historic/Hot Rod Tags) you are emissions exempt.

  7. Great... After reading all this I don't even want to 'start' my Z with the new Spec Stage 3 clutch in it. Blower... I put the new clutch in maybe two months ago and still haven’t started the car, but now after reading all this, it scares me... I don't know if I should keep it since it's already in there? (Don’t want it destroying my Pretty aluminum flywheel) Or should I look at something else...

  8. I posted this in another thread concerning PCV issues.

AK-Z, I think that is ideal; that is why I am going to try something like this. Of course I would restrict the amount of air being sucked through the system, But this gives a great picture and general idea. (one would go to the valve covers and another to the Crank-case vent)

  9. I think this is a great approach to the PCV issue I see always comes up. This is what I plan on running on my Turbo Z.

It's not a Z, but I think it is a great example. One would go to the Valve Cover and the other to the Crank-Case vent.

What do you guys think ?

  10. I have one of these pans too. Did not drill any holes, and the traps worked good. Once they get lubricated with the oil, I think they will work a lot better.

I used the pick-up that was on my turbo 82 F54 block. Besides having to put together my clutch assembly twice, (forgot I couldn't get it on with all that on) I was happy with it.

  11. Sparky,

What did you think about the quality of the kit you bought? As I am about to start re-wiring my Z and was looking into one the EZ wiring kits. Did you find any draw backs with the EZ kit? Just trying to collect as much information, befor I make a decision on the kit to buy. Thanks...

  12. Ok, looked at the thread (thanks Preith) and pretty much just cut the shaft where it starts to taper down. But as far as getting the Shaft for a LD28, where could I possible get one. I go to the local Junk Yards often to look for Z's and Maxima's but can not get my hands on them. And if I do, there is usually nothing usable left. Thanks a lot for helping me out. But I guess I am going to do cut it up and throw it back in...
