Lookin good but now I'm Pi$$ off LOL... How much? Where did you get them? Are you going to make me drop my IRS out and narrow to fit all by myself or are you going to help me? LOL... Do you think they would fit on mine being an inch and a half wider then yours and are you putting them up in the normal rear housings... I don't like the way mine got mounted but they do work OK... Can't wait to see the final out come of your upgrade...

Steelman, I read here all the time to learn. I don't post much but if you have been here 6 months and did not see my post somewhere about IRS being under a Z then you are not searching very hard... Mine was in my car when I got it and I'm one of two people that has given Scottie so information on how ours was done. I think he has done a great job so far and in a very short time. Plus he has cut it down 1.5" per side... I agree with all the other take a chill pill and do think about what you are about to post... Learn to search you can spend days here reading on one subject... Who knows you might learn a thing or two and never have to ask a question... Plus everyone here has been great about responding to email if you happen to try that option...

check the theard below the picture that got posted are my front brakes for my 77. SCCA/Mike is great to work with and knows a lot about the diff setups. don't let my $1600 cost scare you Mike can give you other options that will come out cheaper. Mine is what I wanted to give my 450HP Hybrid the stopping power that it takes to stop as fast as it can go... with out any fade... http://www.hybridz.org/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=6&t=000778 Z U V8ter

disc brake conversion from arizona zcar
Cyind replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Hey, those are my brakes posted above... so far I gave SCCA the $1305 for what you see up there. I have ordered new seals and bearings ( inner and outter ) new grease caps washer and nuts for the 280Z spindles. that ran $107 with a 20% discount from my local Nissan dealer. I have the Hats and 5 Lug Hub along with the coilover caps in the shop getting polished ( 3 plus weeks wait and $110 dollars later ) when I get them back I will powder coat them Translucent blue on the alum parts and the hubs I will use a almost chrome undercoating the the Translucent Blue on them also. Today I will do all the other hardware while I am doing a test on my spare front bummper now that I have my Infrared Curing Light... I can now do big parts like drive shafts, my Corvete IRS, Rack and many other front end parts. Hum maybe the bottom on the car someday! Hey Mike you got instructions on taking the Outlaw Calipers a part? Still thinking about having them polished and then powder coating them also! BTW still waiting on the Prop valve and that one washer! I send ya email about that one... So far I have about $1600 tied up in the brakes on the front. I plan on staying with the 11.5" x .81" Vete rotors and calipers on the rear so I don't loose my ebrakes... I would have posted that pic and others but I never had luck with hyperlinks on my RoadRunner site. Guess I should update my lame homepage... But you know how that goes after working on computers all day the last thing I want to do is come home and work on that... If you know what I mean... Z U V8ter -
My rear flairs are hand made from steel. That is about all I know as they came on the car when I got them. The guy had them done in Dallas with no fillers used... the funny thing is when done it was as if the guy knew just where to stop because when I did a test with my aero kit, it looks like a perfect fit on both the side rails and rear lower valance... Now I just have to find a way to add a second hole for the other tail pipe in the urethane piece... LOL I might just find a great custom body shop to use it as a mold to make one out of steel with a nice horz oval for me... I really don't want to test the 200 MPH 3M tape they give you to hold in on with... ROTFLMAO Z U V8ter

Tokicao shocks: Preformance or Illumina?
Cyind replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I got mine from SCCA/Mike I got the 5 wqy Ill's and 200# Hypercoils springs for the front. I'll get around to installing some day but know they will do what I want them to do. Soft setting for 1/4 and med for normal driving and frim if I want to autox... Do yourself a favor and check with SCCA before buying from MSA. Saved me $50 bucks on shocks and I was able to order just the front set of springs from him. My Corvette IRS does not need any Springs everyone else only sells in sets of 4.... Z U V8ter -
Corvette IRS Pics (LONG!!)
Cyind replied to Scottie-GNZ's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Hey, it is good to know I'm not the only one with a Corvette IRS in a Z... I hate the thought of removing mine someday to powder coat it so I would do it now if you can. Hope some of the pictures I sent you helped make up your mind. Are you planning on cutting down the stubs any? Any information you can pass-on about hooking up the e-brake would be helpful cause I got to fix mine soon. If you have to make any bracker for the back of the stock caliper make me a set while your at it. The way mine was done did not last so let me know what you used or make a set of two up and sell me one... Z U V8ter -

We have a place here around San Antonio that drops you shell in a chem vat and when they come out all you have is bare steel... No missed spots. people put the other parts in the car and have them done at the same time. That is what they do with the old 20's, 30, 40's... cars. I don't think they charge that much unless they take the car apart and put it back together... You might look around in your area and see if someone does that kind of thing... It would be worth the money if you already removed everything... ------------------ Z U V8ter http://cyind.com Rspencer@satx.rr.com

I have been talking to ROBERT 280Zone@home.com he said Dave at Arizona Zcar is getting out of the fiberglass stuff and that he might take it over. I told Robert if he could do away with the 1000 order limit Dave had that he would probley sell more parts. Dave had good prices and bad customer service skills. Robert is the VP of DesertZAssociation.org and he know how we feel about our Z's. I for one would like someone on our side to take over this operation. Send him email and see what he can do for you. ------------------ Z U V8ter http://cyind.com Rspencer@satx.rr.com

Has anyone looked at the ProCharger gear-driven centrifugal superchargers that feature self-lubrication. The SC models share many of the design elements which deliver the record-setting durability and performance of ProCharger competition superchargers, and are also quiet and street legal. The P-1SC ProCharger supports up to 1200 cfm and 825 horsepower. It looks like it could replace my R4 AC compressor plus you can underdrive it and keep your 10:1+ pistons with no lag time. Look at them and let me know what you guys think about it... http://www.procharger.com ------------------ Z U V8ter http://cyind.com Rspencer@satx.rr.com

Jeff, Welcome if you search for "frame" you will find around 141 post here. Try "frame ZX" and see what you come up with. Have you reread you post on zcar yet, I think you will see what I was talking about there. Just hang in there you are in the right place and some one else will prob clue you in on the ZX. But I agree with Pete you can push 400 HP with a few mods... ------------------ Z U V8ter http://cyind.com Rspencer@satx.rr.com

You might watch ebay.com I did a search on chevy 350 and saw 4 or five from 500 - 1500 + shipping... Z U V8ter

www.victoriabritsh.com is like MSA. You can also join local z-club and maybe get a 20% discount from Nissan dealer-ship. My club has deals with 2 here in SA. You can also find good deals on ebay sometimes. I got two sunvisors and hardware for 27.05 today. VB wants 59.95 each. MSA wants between 43.98 - 61.25 each but they only offer 1 side in black now... I have a R4 comp in mine It was in the car when I got it. Looks like it was not hard to convert... Mine was locked up when I got it and it cost 107 to replace it. I've sealed up the system but will wait until summer then have it charged again. Summer starts around March here in San Antonio... LOL V U V8ter

I have the 700R4 in my 77. To me it would be a better way to go because it can take up to 600 HP and you have overdrive with it. Z U V8ter -
Are you sure about ZX Vents and not 77-78 ones... That is what they looked like to me. It is hard to see on VR site... Did you have to remove the springs, how long was the wait on the hood to ship... Please post multi photos up down and all around...

A question for all V8 Z guys with a shifter?
Cyind replied to a topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
The one good thing about a 700R4 and B&M Mega Shifter is the Racing cable does not transfer any vibs... LOL ------------------ Z U V8ter http://cyind.com Rspencer@satx.rr.com -
Learned a long time ago with my 67 Camaro with a 312 deg cam to dial it in by ear. I built the car at a retired Mech shop. He would set the timing then hit the gas until there was no ping and it had good low to high rev. Then put a timing light on it. This guy was very good... Not only that anytime I changed out the dual points (early 70's high tech... LOL) just check or reset to the same mark lock down dist. Car ran 11's all day long with a 7200 redline... FYI Your motor will not lie to ya, it will let you know what it likes the best.... ------------------ Z U V8ter http://cyind.com Rspencer@satx.rr.com
