  1. I've been looking at wheels and I noticed tire rack has 4x114 wheels for cars that should have 4x114.3. Are they just ignoring the .3? I know that less than one third of a millimeter is small and I'm thinking that's what's happening but I want to be sure. Does anyone know what the deal is? This is at tirerack.com by the way
  2. This caught my eye because all I can say for sure is that it wasn't making a vacuum. I had a buddy come over and help me out, we pulled the fuel pump and we sprayed air through it. we refitted it and it was fixed. any ideas what it was? my best guess is something clogged but I have only been using a short length of fuel line and a filter before the pump.
  3. well from what I've found a new mech pump costs around $75 but I'm finding electric pumps from $25-200 and it's a 240 with a chevy 350 from an iroc camaro with a holly street dominator intake, edelbrock 650 carb and an edelbrock proflo triangle
  4. I searched google images, then the s30 picture thread. but I found nothing great. some usable but I cane here in hopes to find something better
  5. Hi, I looked through the s30 pictures thread and found some shots that are basically what I'm after but I don't want to take them from people. I'm looking for someone with an s30 that has 240z style bumpers with a good 8+ megapixel camera and a front air dam that looks like this: I need a side shot of the passenger side. Two would be nice, one of the whole car and one of the front 2/3's. The reason I didn't want to take the pictures from the existing thread is that I'm using this picture for a poster. Even though it's for myself there's always the possibility of selling some so I don't want trouble with people saying they didn't give me permission to use their car. So it should go without saying that if you do chose to help me out by taking these shots, you don't mind me using them for a poster.
  6. Thanks guys. I went with the Proflo triangle and it works pretty well, its very close to the hood but I think it clears
  7. As the title states, my fuel pump went out. I wasn't getting strong pressure out of it but now I'm getting nothing. I was wondering what would be better for my car in terms of performance? Would my fuel pump choice change anything? What about costwise? From what I have found electric seems to be cheaper mainly because they are universal.
  8. this is probably common knowledge but im an s30 guy so i know nothing about s130's. i was wondering if all 280zx's came with r200 diffs. and if they do which would be in a 79 NA s130?
  9. Well I would probably just go as far down as possible because I would like to have some space above the filter for the air to flow. As it is it would probably work but it would be touching the hood, I want it to clear better. I was just wondering if there were any nifty ideas people might have that solve this problem/if other people had this problem because all I ever seem to see is the standard round air cleaners.
  10. Well I don't plan on cutting my hood. I like the way the hood looks and I want to keep it that way. I think I'm just gonna cut down the triangle filter to make it work.
  11. I've got exactly 3.5 inches of clearance between my carb and my hood, how does everyone else get a filter in there? At this point I'm looking at the Edelbrock low profile triangle and even that would be touching my hood. Does anyone else have clearance issues?
  12. Where can I find sheet metal for body panels and such? and what gauge am I looking for?
  13. I was looking at a bunch of pictures of engine bays and I can't find any that use the radiator I have. Also, the in and outlets are 1.25 inches while on the engine they are 1.5.... Does this look like the right radiator? It came from a 3rd gen camaro with a v4 engine
  14. no I put gas in Im thinking there may not be enough to get it into the fuel lines
  15. Ok, so my other thread here was about getting my z running, thanks for all the help guys. Now I can move on to other things, and key engine cooling... So my stock radiator was leaking and I found (by searching the boards) that a Camaro 4 cylinder radiator would work. While at a pick-n-pull I found an entire F-body section so I went on looking and luckily I found a radiator that fits and doesn't appear to have any leaks (not yet at least). I have it all mounted in, except the hoses, and it should be just about ready. Now I'm looking at how to get the air through it. I was thinking I would make a trapezoidal box using the radiator as the front side, dual electric fans on the back and sheet metal closing up the sides. Using these at the end: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/PRM-19128/ so does this sound like an effective cooling method?
  16. ok well I tried it with my buddies down by the tank and the air got through. so could I just not have enough gas in my tank? i haven't put much in but I thought it would be enough
  17. is a can of air low pressure enough? other than canned air all I have is a paintball air tank and that's about 750-800psi
  18. Should I disconnect them at the tank or just blow the air right into the tank?
  19. edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9wosPa_gqoU Here's a video of it running, its pretty smooth, but I also think it's idling a bit high I don't get it, the fuel lines are so high up on the tank walls, how can fuel get to them? I guess I'll have to drop my tank to get to them. :/
  20. can anyone tell me where the gas lines are on the tank end? I think they're clogged so I was going to run compressed air through them but I can't see them on the bottom of the tank where I thought they would be.
