Yeah that is what I thought too. But this engine is out of a 98 Stagea so there is no plug on it. I was like dam. I see the spot where it was suppose to be but it is solid. I will ship it back tomorrow I guess.
Hey can you make a steel braided power steering hose. I have the 300zx Z32 and my power steering was on the passenger side. So now I need to get it on the drivers side. Someone said I could bend the current hose to make it work or get a steel braided one made. I rather just do it right and get it over with. lol
Sorry about that my brain was on lock up on that one. I meant to say that I do not have a spot for the dip stick. I seen on some blocks they have a plug on the rear part of the block. Mine does not have that. So any suggestion on how to get a dip stick/
Hey Pat the pan fit great and the pickup was dead on but I just realize something. My block does not have the spot to put the oil pick up in the back. Any suggestion anyone.
Man I hate those it took me two weeks of trying to get it out finally I use a dremel and cut it out. If you grinding it out into three sections you can then use a hammer and tap each corner and it will cave in then all you have too do then is pull it out took me like 45 minutes. I tried the slide hammer and the bushing pulling tool and could not get them to work. So just another option I guess.
So do you have any final pics for all those looking to get one later. I have had 5 people asking me about that 200zr pan I had and I directed them to come on here and check out your work.
Other than that cover is there any other way to tell the differences between a RB NEO and and regular. There is an engine on EB claiming to be a Neo. But it does not have the cover and its identicle to mine. I assumed mine was a RB out of a Nissan Stagea because of the ECU and some of the newer sensors. But this engine online and from a good seller is claiming to be a NEO. So is there any way to tell by looking other than the cover itself.
They say the same thing on VGs. But I know guys who have run those clutch fans for years without the shroud. I did but I also had a very nice upgraded radiator.
Dam I wish I got that one lol. Mine came out of one of those station wagons. So on the plus it is a 98 model and have some of the newer sensors, but dam I want all that other stuff you got. lol
Well Once I get mine in the car I will be smiling and once I can get it to crank, I will smile even harder. Lol. Three bad VGs in row and I said screw it and got me a RB.
I will check into those. Yeah some of those Ausi are the ones claiming 350+ on all stock components. Hard to believe. But I have seen some on here claiming very high numbers too. So I dont know.
My friends say there is no way I can get 350 on RB25 without changing the injectors and turbo. But I have seen some people post around 370 with stock turbo and injector.
So how safe would I be if I only want about 450Hp and what mods do I need to get me there. Whats the most I can expect with 550 injector, nistune ecu, fmic, and running about 12 psi on a stock turbo.
Now I read somewhere about a breather being in the oil pan. Does the stock pan have breathers on it. I know where they are on a VG I have no idea where they are on a RB. Just wondering I thought that your pcv works as a breather well at least on a VG. I have seen pics of oil pans with breather valve installed in them. Is that necessary.
Wow that is a very nice job. I can tell you now you will be getting a lot of business after this. That is one hot and professionally done looking pan. I am glad I found you that day instead of hacking up the pan I had. Very nice. Man I wish I could weld.
So with a big oil pan and more oil will that prevent that problem I heard about with RBs once they get to a certain horsepower. I heard that RB25 usually throw a rod around 500 and Rb26 around 600 with stock internals. Or is that a some type of tuning issue and not associated with the amount of oil flowing around the engine.
Dont really know. I have never bought a used one before so I figure I would throw it out there and see what pops up. I was going to go with a lightweight but I figure no need to wasted the money for the power Im going to be with.
Oh is that template any help at all. I was thinking about taking a pic with my camera the exact size then using that. I was trying to do that with the pic up top I was getting close but not exact.
Nice you are going to become the official RB pan maker on here with all this dedication and great work. Dam too bad I cannot weld I would have myself a great christmas making pans. Lol.
Looking good. Hey was that template any kind of help. I figure with that and some of other pics you have should be close. I would drive to GA with engine. But man those jokers are heavy. I thought the VG was heavy this is not too much lighter and someone jacked my engine hoist out of the yard. lol
Hello Pat I have another template I will scan it and email it to you. I will try and match it up to a pic first. So I will do that on lunch break in about an hour.
