  1. Hey there is a R32 harness on Ebay with the blue connectors with a buy it price of 189. I saw it just mourning listed just mourning. Then you could get another ecu for about 100.
  2. Yeah I have a RB25 but it was one of those that came with awd and the oil sump location is the same as a RB26. So I cannot just attached the 200zr pickup like I read in some of the post. So I either need a pickup that will work or a pan and a pickup. I figure I could always sell the 200zr pan and pickup for what I paid easily. The problem is I have a 300zx so I need a rear sump pan so I can sit it as far back as possible so I can still have AC and not cut up the nose bar to fit a radiator. So basically I need a pickup that is straight from the original location on a awd block to the spot on the rwd block. I am trying to not do an external pickup or cut up the pan to get this to work. Hey what part of Georgia do you live in Im in SC just outside of Columbia.
  3. So how much would you charge to make another. Lol. Also will this pan and pickup work with a RB26 in the original oil pickup location. I have a 300zr pan and pickup, but my engine was a RB25 awd so the pickup needs to modified. I was thinking about just selling what I have and buy a upgrade pan with pickup.
  4. Well you got two choices on this one. The harness you need comes off a RB25 neo, late model RB26 or a Stagea any year between 96-2001. On the Ausi site there are tons of those Stageas but the cost to ship it would be a killer. You can go this route. Buy a RB25 R33 harness and ECU and use it instead. Now I was also wondering if you could pull all the pins out on harness connector and use a diagram to repin it on a R33 or 32 harness connector.
  5. We are in the same boat. I am doing a rb25 swap too. I have that harness you are speaking of. It comes out of a Nissan Stagea which is a station wagon or a skyline with a RB26 or neo engine. I am trying to drop mine into a 300 ZX 2+2 91 model. They are hard to find on skyline most skyline in a RB25 have those other blue connectors only stageas and R34 skylines have the white or gray looking three row connectors. Check under the RB20 neo addition also. Yeah the stagea uses the series 2 Rb25det but some of the sensors are different but same engine. I was going to switch to a regular R33 harness but the ECU for the stagea is way easier to mod. I can actually chip it, use power fc, or nistune. Series 2 ecus cannot be chipped at least thats what I read. So I guess once I drop mine into the car we should compare notes on the wiring that looks to be the hardest part of my swap other than the oil pickup which I am going to have to get some fabbing done to get it to work.
  6. Has anyone ever tied using a 300zx Z32 oil pick up. They are pretty long and straight and I figure if I can find some that is straight from the awd location to the rwd location. I can then weld the other piece onto. Sounds good in theory, but I am sure someone has tried it. I know on the Q45 swap when going to rear sump they cut the tip off of the Z pickup and weld it to the Q pick up. The main thing it is straight and does looks to be about the same height so no need to notch pan.
  7. Yeah I was thinkin about trying to find a tube that is the lenght of the difference between the two but it needs to be as straight as possible. I have a few ideas. I will check a few other pick ups and see if I can find one that is some what straight.
  8. Wow tying on a blackberry sucks. Well I need a modified oil pick up and I do have the original rb26 style and the one from the 200zr. So I figure I would do something with the 26 pick up rather than hacking up the the other. So any suggestions or does anyone have one that is already modified to work with the rear sump from the original awd stock location.
  9. Hello guys. Well I ended up finding a rear sump pan. But did not know that the AWD engine cannot use the pick up with modying. So I have read the different write ups and I see a few good ideas but I do not want to cut up pan or hack up a good pick up that is discontinued, lol. So I was wondering if there is anyone out there that modifies the original RB26 style pickup to work with the 200zr pan. I would rather get than one modified and sell the other. I figure some with a rwd rb may want or need it down the road
  10. I am doing a RB25det in a 300zx 1991 2+2. I have had 3 JDM vgtt in the past 4 years so after that I figure it was time for a change. The swap is very easy to do. I do not know why so many shops charge so much in labor. I can understand some of the parts which are overpriced but the labor the shops charge is ridiculous. But I just got my engine on thursday and I was amazed on how clean it was compare to most vgs. The design is simplistic and a dream to work on compare to VGs. I can reach everything in the matter of minutes not hours. Imagine changing fuel injectors in 45 minutes or less vs 2-3 hours on a Vgtt. Very under-rated engine. I am getting a lot of slack from some of my Z buddies but once I get this bad boy on the road they will see why.
  11. Yeah I emailed them too back on thursday. No response as of yet. The whole reason I went with the RB engine for my z32 was because of the rear sump pan that I thought was readily available. Now Im getting my engine tomorrow and have no pan. That sucks.
  12. I am looking for a bellhousing off of a RB26 or 25 five speed tranny. Also looking for a rear sump oil pan with oil pickup. I already know where I can get them for 400 shipped so no crazy prices.
  13. I have absolutley no experience at wedding lol. I wish I did it would save me some real money on these swap ideas I am debating on.
  14. I am debating on two swaps. So I need RB20 rear sump pan and pick up stick to be use with a RB25 swap. A RB25 trans housing. Also I am looking fro a R-154 Trans 5 speed. Also a plate for VH to use with a z32 trans. And if anyone know who makes headers for the VH to fit a Z32. Thank You.
  15. Who makes headers for the VH45 that would fit a 300zx z32
  16. So has anyone ever got a VK56 in anything. I have found a pic of it sitting in an engine bay but none finish on a Z32. In fact I have not found any finish on any site other than the 350z.
  17. Yeah i was thinking about the VH but that joker is bigger than a the VG and hence probably harder to work on in the cockpit. I have seen a few RBs and 2Js in different Zs and they have way more room to work with. You are right about the RB torque but I figure if I can get it just over 400 that would be just as good a a VG running about the same or less.
  18. Yeah the VG is great for power but I hat working on those jokers. I want one turbo or none or at least be some where that I can get them off without pulling the whole dog gone engine. My last two engine were over 400 but the maintenance on them is no joke. Most shops want touch a Z. I use to work at firestone and they refuse to do the timing belt on it. In fact they refuse to do timing on all Nissan V engine but especially the Z.
  19. Mainly I want something easier to maintain than a VG30dett. Since 2005 I have only driven the car for a total of 2 week and Im on my third engine. I said man I dont want another engine I cant change heads or replace turbos in the bay ever again. I want something over 400hp. Cut off for me is right at 500. I thought about the VH. Which would probably be the cheapest but I want 400+. I dont think I can get that on those without going inside or charging it some kind of way.
  20. Yeah I seen the GM one too and I think there is one for T56. But I see some people have found them for like 300 dollars. I guess I will have to hit more junk yards. But I will keep you in mine.
  21. Hey I am about to do myself another swap and I was debating between a 2j or a VK56. The question I have is how much harder would it be to drop a VK in a Z32 vs a VH
  22. Man what engine is that in that car. Is that a VH45
  23. Man those 5 speed trans are not easy to find. So my question is down anyone make an adapter plate that would allow you to use a 300zx tt trans with a 2j engine. That would eliminate some wiring and fabicating if there was one. Plus most of the R-154 trans I been finding are about a 1000 once you ship them. Also does the US trans have the starter on the right or left side. I been looking at a few JDM trans and all of them have the starter on the left if you were facing the car.
  24. I am getting rid all of my VG stuff and looking to get into a new setup. So I been looking at the VK out of the titan but not sure on what to do with the trans. I also looked at some LS2s but those engines are about as expensive as a RB. So I have narrowed it down to either RB25 or 2jz. I believe the rb would be the easiest to do but the 2j just seems to have the most potential. Keep in mind I only want 450-500 hp max. I have that now on the VG but I just want something a little easier to work on and upgrades and at the most a single turbo setup. No VG30dett Im on my third engine now. I want something I can pull injectors, plugs, and timing belts in less time than that beast.
  25. Yeah we are thinking the same. I figure the RB would be easier as far as wiring and fit. But there is no denying the potential of that 2j. I can get the rb25 for 1800 with 5 speed trans. Then I figure I would take the bellhousing off and mount it to my Z32 trans. Then I would just sell the RB trans and get back some money and do some upgrades. At that point the only issue I would have is the oil pan from what I read. Now as far as the 2j 1500 without trans. Sell my Z trans which is rebuilt with no shifting issues of any kind. Get a 5 speed. Then just do some of the fabbing I read up on. The RB seems to be the easiest but the 2j seems to be easier than doing a LS2 and some of the V8 I have looked at.
