  1. I have had my car up on jacks for about 5 months now while messing with the fuel hard lines and gas tank. I got home tonight from a vacation and now I see that my wheel is hanging a lot lower than before. It looks like something broke loose because the rear left spring does not look like this. I was planning on redoing my suspension down the road since the car is too low with cut stock springs that made every bump rub. I am not real knowledgeable about suspension even though I have been reading numerous posts. I want to get 16x8 Rota RBs along with a stiffer spring set up than stock. I typically drive the car only on the freeway and as a weekend cruiser. I have never been to the track but I would like a mild performance set up so that I can do some in the future. What I am hoping is some opinions on what I should buy based on my driving habits. Based on some posts I have read, it seems that coil overs are more for hardcore track racers which I am not. So if you had my problem and my 1975 280Z, what would you recommend I get and from where? What would be sufficient for my driving without spending more than I need to for my mostly street car?   3. I installed three 2 5/8 Speedhut gauges into the stock gauge holders by grinding the holes bigger but I am not sure what to do for the speedometer and tachometer. I have looked up posts on this website but I could not find any that explained how it was done on a 1975 Z. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to do this?
  4. I was just wondering if anyone had any pictures or could tell me where the best place is to put the fuses? I am ready to start rewiring my car with the EZ wiring harness this weekend. Any advice you can offer me?
  5. I have been searching everywhere and I can't seem to find the answer. I see that reconditioned fuel senders cost a ton of money so I would like to buy an aftermarket one for cheaper if possible. I haven't seen anyone mention aftermarket senders. Is the reason why we don't have an aftermarket sender because there isn't one that fits or tanks or is it because the aftermarket sender won't work with the stock gauges? I ordered an aftermarket fuel gauge and am wondering what to do.
  6. For the rear lights and other components, are you completely taking out the factory wire and installing the new harness wire? Or are you leaving a small strand and connecting the harness wire to the old wire?

  8. I recently bought the EZ wiring harness which will fix most of my wiring mess but it does not help with engine wiring and sensors. The wiring in my engine bay is a complete wreck as well. Is there a wiring harness like EZ that can be an L28ET replacement? I want to install Megasquirt and it appears it needs to piggyback off of an existing wiring harness and cannot be used as a harness. Does anyone know?
  9. I have a F cam from a head I bought and was wondering if this would be an upgrade in my L28ET. Is there a site that lists out which cams can do what L28ET?
  10. My car's wiring is a complete mess and I have the engine pulled so I would like to get the car rewired depending on the cost. I searched and some people have the Painless Wiring Harness. Can someone direct me to the correct harness I should buy? How much would a shop charge me to take out the old and install the new? The car ran before I took out the engine and I noticed that a lot of wires were cut and not connected to anything. There also are a lot of wires that are just twisted together barely but not held by any electrical tape. Experiences? Tips? Recommendations?

  12. I read the FAQ on fixing the noisy Walbro fuel pump by adding a Carter low pressure pump pumping into a surge tank. I would also like to run a set up just like this but is there any way to run dual pumps off of the L28ET ECU?
  13. I did search. Not only do I search this site, I search other Z car sites as well. I am not real handy at making surge tanks from items in the garage. I was hoping that someone bought one somewhere that was adequate enough. I still can't find the answers to my questions so I still don't know how to wire it, how many feet of line I should get, or if it will work with my stock ECU. So if possible without pissing anyone off, can I please get a little help?
  14. I am really interested in redoing my fuel system since my car bogged a bunch (I am guessing clogged lines with rust). I read the FAQ about running a lower pressure pump into a surge tank and then having the Walbro feed the injectors. So when replacing the lines for those who have done it, what did you buy to complete this project? How many feet of SS braided fuel lines did you get? Where did you get a surge tank and where did you mount it? Can it be mounted in the engine bay? Should I replace the hard lines? How did you wire two pumps to work? Wire size? Will this work with the L28et ECU? Any other pointers?

  19. Wow. I am feeling really embarrassed right now and am not a troll. This is pretty much my first attempt at really anything like rebuilding an engine. I live in a small town where I don't know anyone to help me and I didn't have a dad who could teach me these cool things. I really enjoy trying to do this (please don't tell me to not attempt this) but I ask a ton of really retarded questions like this. I wish there was a beginner forum for inexperienced guys like me who don't have the knowledge that everyone else has. I just added a video on YouTube but it still says it needs processing. I will post it as soon as it uploads.

  21. I am a bit confused and this is my first build ever. I recently got a Neiko digital caliper from amazon so I tried it out by measuring my pistons and cylinder bore of my block. The cylinder bore for all 6 cylinders was about 90.2mm and the cylinder itself was about 86mm. When I try to fit the cylinder into the bore, it fits snugly. So does this sound like I need a new block or is my caliper no good according to my description? I will put up a youtube video tomorrow

  23. From what I have read, a Borg Warner T-5 transmission is needed with the L28ET engine because it is stronger. The problem for me though is it is really hard to find a T-5 in decent shape but there are a lot of 5 speed NA transmissions available. I rarely ever launch the car from a standstill and usually accelerate faster on the freeway. Will a NA transmission work in my situation if I don't stomp on it from a standstill but instead stomp on it on the freeway?
