  2. i think my stock 280zx turbo fuel pump just died, so i am looking to upgrade, i like the holly electric one, but i am wondering if i will need a new fuel pressure regulator. i ask this because i put in a walburo 255 pump and it pumped so much psi, like 40 at idle, that the car would not run. also i thought some one found a fuel pressure regulator for like only 60 buck and, money is a big prob for me right now so the cheaper the better. links would be great but any help would be great

  4. well what do u want to do with the car, drag race, track , street, weekend car, what, u want auto or 5 spd. if u want drag got for a v8, if u want anything with curves and dont wanna spend alot of money go with turbo. u can do a v8 track car but its more money. u can use a 1981-1983 280zx turbo engine, and most of the stuff bolts in. u just gotta do fuel and exst.
  5. no more boost for you not intill you put an intercooler in do not upgrade your injectors yet the car will run very rich and with no intercooler it would be bad better yet sell them to me richardsebay@yahoo.com
  6. thank you very much for the info, so do u just pull it out or are there bolts, i couldnt find any bolts
  7. just got a lsd r200 from a 1987 turbo 300zx, and i am putting it into my 1973 240z, i think i know all the stuff i ned like the mustach bar from a 280z and input shafts from a 83 turbo zx, but what do i do about the input yoke problem. they are different from the drive shaft that is on the car right now, i want to change the one from the 280zx r200 with the 300zx lsd , how do i do it does it just pull out or what
  8. yes i installed this motor and i have a t3 t04 turbo and no intercooler yet(just waiting on the piping kit to install it) where can i get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator
  9. i now i have too much psi coming from the pump, like 80psi and the stock engine needs like 60psi (if i am correct) how do i bring down the psi
  10. i just did a 280zx turbo swap in my 240 z and i had to do custom fule lines and a custom fuel pump set up, i am using a walburo 255, i get everything hooked up and put about a 1/2 gal of gas in and drove it down the sreet, it was great, car was perfect. so i go out and get about 3 more gal of gas to stick in the tank, do that then the car will not start, i then find out that the car is running so rich that it will not even start. so what do i do to get the car started 1. adjust the afm 2. some how give the pump less power, like 10v or something(like hook up the stock fuel pump computer to the pump, right now i have the pump hooked up to 12v from the bat 3. get some kind kind of valve and put it on the fuel line(tryed it but maybe i should try it again) 4. put about 5 fuel filters in the line to restrict flow( i am very desperate so help me please
  11. i just put a 280zx turbo motor in my 1973 240 z and i put in an after amrket fuel pump, its a walbro 255lph , and i know the car is runnign so rich that is isnt even starting, should i try and give less power to the pump by sticking the fuel pump computer in and trying that, or should i try the screw thing on the afm to lean the car out, can i be giving too much fuel to the car that it will not even start
  12. so where do you guys have your turbo afm in your early z cars any pics would be great even if they are from a 280z, i just need something i just got spark on my 1973 240 with its enw 1982 turbo engine and i drove it for like 20 sec. i stopped because i saw that i broke my rad, the heavy afm fell on it and made a tiny hole in it so now i can drive the car, so i will get the rad fixed soon, my real prob is the falling afm, i just had it right off the turbo, where can i fit the afm, i plan on putting in an intercooler so room will be hard. so where do you guys have your turbo afm in your early z cars any pics would be great even if they are from a 280z, i just need something
  13. thanks for the info, i dont remember what fuel pump i am using but i know it will support alot of hp like 400, so the injectors are the problem, so about 9 psi wil;l be safe then right?
  14. i am swaping a 1982 280zx turbo into my 1973 240z, right now i cant get spark but that isnt the question, i am putting in a big intercooler, 21"by3"by7", and i am running a t3 t04 turbo, i want to know what is the max psi i can run with the stock injectors, i am running a great fuel pump so that will not be the problem, i did a search and it says the stock injectors will got to about 270 hp, but what psi can the stock injectors take with my t3 t04 turbo
  15. I have gone and posted some pics to http://http:matt.zoplionah.comzcarindex.html They are described on the page. They are all the of the harnesses we could not remove so they have been rewired temp, to try to start the car. I think our fault lies in the coil wiring. I am totally at a loss trying to get spark. I believe the coil is wrong. If someone could tell me EXACTLY what wires should be around the coil. This harness was cut by mistake, so i have gone ahead and tapped into it by the floor with some butt connectors to get signal across, ignoring needed lines. I am unsure of the coil connections from the ignitor, as i dont understand the schematics i have recieved, as some say + is pulsed, while some say -. Any help would be great, ESPECIALLY pictures of an engine bay coil wire up. Also i have a pic of the dizzy as i am unsure of what wire goes on the tab. Rember this harness was cut so i am improvising to the best of my knowledge. Also the harness by the battery has been jumped with +12 to the BW wire, making the green EFI click, i believe this is all that is needed. Thank you very much as i really appreciate this. -Matt PS.
