  1. i am driving the coil with the ms2's ignition driver, utilizing the stock nissan CAS

    igntion settings are: rising edge/trigger rise/standard coil charge/going high(inverted) with 10 deg spark map and a 60 deg trigger offset

  2. I have tried adjusting the trigger angle with no effect to timing light results i have Also tried setting entire map to 10 deg adv. with no change. ill try adjusting the trigger angle again with 10 degs on whole map.

  3. i am really confused as how to set the base timing on my car,

    240z/vg30et ms2 using tunerstudio stock nissan CAS.

     

    my problem is when i check the timing with a light while cranking, while the dizzy is in its normal posistion its at least 40+ degrees too advanced.

    I have tried changing the trigger angle from 0 to 60 and tried adjusting the spark advance table, no change from either. i have read that your supposed to set a fixed angle

    so as not use the igntion table but i cannot even find that option in tunerstudio. I am really confused as what steps to take from here.If someone could give me an idea

    about what i might be doing wrong here, or maybe give me a step by step guide to setting base timing that would really help. Thanks -James

  4. I have a 1971 240z with a 1985 300zx turbo engine that i recently installed a ms2 on.

    I am using it control both fuel and spark i have gotten it to run but had to

    open throttle to do it and engine was backfiring and would not idle.

     

    I am wondering how to setup the base timing as i believe that is the

    issue, i already setup req_fuel and tps calibration as well as general

    specs using tunerstudio

     

    I am using the stock distributor with CAS w/6 slots one being different

    than the others(#1 TDC), Ive been researching how to do this but i cant

    seem to find the information i need. I have it setup per mobythevan's wiring diagram.

     

    to sum it up: do i have to change orientation of distributor from

    stock?,do i have to change/setup anything in tunerstudio for ignition for

    it to start so i can start tuning?

     

    Since I am new to this forum here is a description of my car

    1971 240z

    vg30et engine

    Megasquirt 2 ecu

    420cc injectors

    3 inch exhaust

    BW t5 5 speed

    gutted intake plenum

    holset h1c

    tial 38mm wastegate

    walbro 255

  5. hey guys swapped the fuel lines and fired up almost immediately, it is so funny how i could be so careful with connecting all of the wiring and do something like hook up the fuel lines backwards, anyways here is a pic and a video.

  6. you must be right, that sounds right, I have never hooked up fuel lines staright from gas tank, when i tried to blow compressed air through the FPR it would go through one way but not the other thanks I will swap the lines next time i work on engine

  7. vg30et ran fine a few months ago, sat for a few months.now No fuel to injectors extreme fuel build up between fuel tank and FPR, when i pulled fuel line it was under extreme pressure(wish i would have known) it sprayed everywhere highly atomized fine spray. pulled Fpr, right side rail had barely any fuel, left side none at all, return line none at all. suggestions? I am all ready getting a new FPR, how about cleaning fuel lines without removing injectors?

  8. Hello everybody I am currently trying to put a vg30 in my 72. I have the engine from the z31 out of the car with harness attached, the engine ran great before i pulled it out of the car. Now even with everything attahed the engine cranks, fuel pump primes, engine rotates but will not fire. I am just looking for suggestions, as i have been chewking wires for 6 hours with no results. does anybody have any suggestions?

    I left that post 2 days ago I now have ascertained that all plugs are working. heres what I know the fuel rail is basically empty when i pulled regulator off, no fuel out of rail return line, when i pulled the line from fuel pump to regulator it sprayed gasoline everywhere like it was under extreme pressure, also no smell of gas when cranking at all(straight pipe). so I now believe that that the fpr is blocking the fuel from the rail and

    building extreme pressure between tank and fpr. also fuel pump sounds kinda strained/making strange noises. what do you guys think?, thanks again z31ss

  9. nevermind I found it, does this increase the voltage of the spark?. one more question if i have been cranking the engine over and over without it firing should it smell like gas?(no exhaust equiped) because it doesnt could that mean injectors arent firing?
