  1. Yes I have done my searches for this information. Power steering specifics are hard to find. A friend told me he has seen several S30 Z cars fitted with the power steering rack from an early Nissian Maxima. In the early 80"s the Maxima used the L28 engine and some had power steering. It is suppose to be just about a bolt on. Has anyone had any experience with this swap.
  2. I've got on in Sequim, Washington. Sequim is in the North West corner of the state right across from Victoria.

    Size Matters

I bought a 260Z with a Chevy V8 already installed. I would like to make it quieter. It currently has two "glass pacs" on it. The problem is that I have space limitations. About the max size I can go is 3 1/2" in diameter and about 24" long. I have done a search and have not found these specifics. Any ideas would be appreciated by my wife. Thanks.
  4. y-not I will be there as well. I fly down every year from Washington State. I will look for you what color is your car? It should not be too hard to find you. After you weed through the Factory Five Cobras the show gets fun.
  5. Look into ScorpionZcars.com. I am building one myself and I am very happy with the quality of the product and the service. It is ALL hand laid. It is the only one that offers the original trunk style. He does no advertising and yet sells alot of kits because of the quality. I have built several kits and have some experience doing this type of stuff. Search this site for others who have had experience with Tom. Good luck on your project and it is nice to see another older builder, I am 58.
  6. Be careful mixing polyester and epoxy resins. You can put epoxy resin over polyester but not the other way. For the extra money where possible use epoxy. It bonds better and the curing rate can be controlled much better. Also remember that there is very little strength in resin. You need to add fillers. The best place to get good information on which fillers to use is from a boat builder. I use chopped strand mat that I cut up into small piecies and mix with the resin to form small parts and it has never failed me. There are fillers for filling gaps, for gluing, and for fairing to name a few.
  7. I figured out how it works however it appears that the internal part of the slave cylinder needs to be drilled out a little. If this works what a great little part. It eliminates all those steps you need to take to convert the slave.
  8. Holly makes a low profile air cleaner. #64280. I think is rated at 800CFM; however it is not cheap. About $150.00(?) I think
  9. I just got the new part from Summit for the conversion of the Slave Cyl. The part number is MCL-139026. I think I understand how this is installed however I would like to make sure before I tear into it. I believe you remove the roll pin in the existing part and remove then install new part. with new roll pin provided. One question is where does the small rubber grommet go? Has anyone done this yet. Thank you.
  10. Mike, I just got the new part for the clutch cylinder and I am of course confused as to just how it works. There are three part, The brass piece that appears to go into the clutch hose. But it seems to big. A roll pin, and a small black washer. What goes where and how? Any help would be appreciated. The part number is MCL-139026.Thank you.
  11. No I have only read about them. I understand that they use a different valve cover however. I think you should get them and sell me your old valve covers. Think about it what an offer. I love when you post pictures of them.
  12. I think a company that already works with JTR would understand our needs and be able to meet them. If it were a quality product it is needed. Just look at the number of people on this site. And this is only a fraction of the people in need. I think the demand will continue to grow as time passes. Put me down for one this year and one next year.
  13. thanks guys. I think I will place it back in and do it that way. I have the springs compressed.
  14. I did a search and found that most people use an impact wrench to remove the top bolt on the strut. I don't have one and no around me does that I can borrow. Would rather not buy one. Is there any other way? I replacing everything. Thanks
