  1. I ordered for 2+2 and they sent me a 2 seater... But I just bit the bullet and forked out the 550 for the 2+2 kit from zcarsource. Let's see the fitment and quality/durability of this kit.
  2. I was wondering if anyone knows were to purchase a 280Z 2+2 weatherstrip kit, without having to pay an arm and leg for it? I was shipped a wrong kit from carparts.com which according to the "parts specialist" he sent me the correct item and guarantied that the kit would fit.... It was a precision kit for $246 shipped. I still considered pricey, but after seeing other on zcarsource for 540,another at fleabay for 780 and even a kit from another source for ~1200 I thought that it came out cheap considering the others. I would greatly appreciate your help, as I'm a weatherstrip kit short to complete the body and paint restoration on my Z. Thanks
  3. This is my first experience with the Z's and yes, in the short run I'll be aiming for a MS. I've always been used to create my own maps with ecuflash for the evo and for dsm's tuned with dsmlink, plus I've done a couple of camaros with hptuners, so I'm not used to "out of the can flashes/maps" because of the factors that play a role when it comes to tuning for reliability and power. Thanks for the suggestions/advise, please keep them coming as I will be needing them!
  4. Wouldn't a hp fuel pump like the walbro 255 overrun the stock fpr? I'm actually going to install a wb 255, but will also be running an afpr and adjust to stock pressure.
  5. Actually I'm just using the pigtails and wire in what's needed for it to run... I'll post updates as I go along and hope for it to work...
  6. I do plan to use the ecu with its harness and wire up just what's needed for the ecu/system to run. I will be wiring up a cobra maf, z31 o2 sensor and will also be runing the 83 turbo distributor with the z31 encoder disk. So technically will be doing doing a harness for it.
  7. Fist off let me start by saying that this is my first old school Z, so I am not very educated on these vehicles... I recently started to restore my 1978 280z and have decided to turbocharge my L28E and started to collect parts to run this setup. Now, I will be using (or at least attempt) to use the Z31 ecu with the JWT flash, but I was wondering if anyone has successfully used the stock S30 harness for this ecu/setup? Any help/advise is appreciated!
  8. Found one locally! I sourced out one at an auto salvage and found a complete 83 280zx turbo... It's all there, but I really don't need anything else.

  10. I'm still looking for a stock 280zx turbo for my setup. I got scammed at another forum and has simply delayed my project... Any way, I don't need it to have the down pipe nor oil lines, but do need it with the wastegate and most importantly in the best operational shape. Thanks and let me know best price shipped to 79912

  12. Found an exhaust manifold. Thanks ednasty619, payment sent. Now I reacted a little too slow to Z-ya's post/offer and turbo is gone... So I'm still in the market for a turbo and bsmuwk, could you please send me full info on that ecu and pics. Also pp addy to send payment if it is what I'm looking for.
  13. The issue is now gone. There were several things I checked and honestly don't know which one was the problem solver... The first thing I did was to replenish the coolant I have lost when changing the coolant temp sensor, then I proceeded to check the fuel pressure with the mentioned method (thanks 9rider!) And I don't know if there was air in the fuel system from changing the fuel filter and not de-pressurized the system properly and later cause the issue... After that, I've tested the car and now rubs like a champ! Even better than when I drove it home 4 years ago. Thanks for all the support! Next step.... Turbo. I really miss the boost from all my dsm's and evo. Btw, test driving my Z through a nice curvy road felt amazing, it reminded my to my 350z but in a more man and machine mode. I'm falling more in love with it now

  16. Well, I'm new to the game and would like to get my Z running right. I purchased the car 4 years ago and sat on my garage for that same time, up until now that I sold my Evo and opted to run this beauty. I have changed the spark plugs, wires,rotor and cap, fuel filter, pump, afm that I've purchased from a member here, coolant sensor, cleaned connectors and God knows what else... Now the issue is that a month ago the car ran "fine" with the previous afm and fuel pump, but had done the regular tune up parts. After driving the car for a couple of days, one night the car started to sputter and while giving it gas, the car wouldnt rev and simply fall flat and die. Startup got hard after operating temperature was reached and from there it will have a hard time reving passed 1200 rpm and on, but will idle fine. Now.if I let the car sit and cool down, the car will start up fine, idle fine and rev up high when I open the throttle, but when it warms up, I close the hood and I try to drive away, the car would no go passed the 1200 rpm and continue to drop until it stalls. I have Disconected the TPS and reconnect and appears to somewhat work for a couple of seconds/min. And then go back the faulty stage. Could the tps cause this condition? Any ideas of what could I check next to get it running like a champ? Forgot to mention that engine was rebuilt by PO.

  19. Looking for some turbo parts, I'm starting an L28 N/A turbo project and currently looking for an OEM turbo, exhaust manifold, inline walbro if near new condition, afpr and a Z31 (1988) ecu. Let me know what you guys have. Thanks.
