  1. Hi, do you have any details on the check valve used.
  2. could always take out and replace with something like this http://speedyairspares.com.au/products/12V_Heater_Demister_FOUR_Straight_Outlets-211-16.html which is what i hope to do in near future ta.
  3. MR2 AW11 have that function, i got one and supercharger are not "working" at lower load can get decent milage. good explanation here http://mr2.org.nz/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7552
  4. does anyony have any sound clips, would love to hear what it sounds like,
  5. possibly a silly suggestion, but if the body is in good condition, and dosnt require much work, why not throw in a standard engine L6 and trans, and just use the car as is for the while, then you can source and build the engine etc as money does flow in, that way you dont loss a Z car, and could even sell the engine pay of a few bills and buy another one at a later stage, finding a nice z would be harder than finding a engine possibly. and if its in a really really good condition, with a reliable engine, it could become your daily, thereby reducing your insurance, and maybe petrol cost. just ideas, i have been there, tried to sell my z cause of a lack of cash, anyways good luck whatever the choice.
  6. nissan datsun utes, http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/listings/listings_search_results.asp?searchtype=GENERAL&searchstring=datsun&searchregion=100&go.x=17&go.y=11&sort_order=price_desc
  7. http://www.geocities.com/~z-car/specs/ the 280zx was a new model of z car, more grand tourer then sports car, still cool cars, looking for one here to do a skyline engine swap into. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101669 - which will make a very cool race/drift car. probably best z car to start off in, less rust usually, and parts are lot easier to get, especially panels. more use ful links http://www.msu.edu/~levesqu6/links.htm http://www.zcarparts.com/store/4.16/00000001/catalog/c-index.html http://www.pape.ws/allan_and_rosanne/Z-Car_Stuff/
  8. i started off by reading most of http://auto.howstuffworks.com/ gives a very good grounding how are car works. -your cars is fuel injected, so read up on that, http://auto.howstuffworks.com/under-the-hood-channel.htm i can do basic stuff like changing the oil, spark plugs, learn by doing, quite easy in these cars, fairly simple get a Haynes manual or similar, from local parts shop or ebay. easiest way to get car on road, would be to replace the engine and trans, either by buying a parts car, (280zx) with a rough body but running well, with lowish milage, ask a local garage how much to replace engine and trans. shouldnt to be much, dont know the prices there, mybe someone here will chime in. ps. are you able to register the car to get it road legal, here in new zealand, if the car is not registred for 12 months and/or put on hold, the car is not legally able to be driven, have to get new plates etc for car. figure that out first before spending any money on the car, sweet as. laters.

  11. http://www.nissansilvia.co.nz/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11060 pm - r32line - already done the conversion. i got this from him after pm him, "The RB bolted straight into the existing engine mounts. There was just a little tab on the mount that was square and the rb had a round hole so just drilled it a bit bigger. The engine sits low enouth for the bonnet to close, apparently on a 280z you need to lower it for it to fit but not so on the zx the standard sump does hit the cross member as the member in the zx is a bit further back than in the skylines so all we did was cut around the cercumfrance of the sump and turn it 180 degrees and welded it back on again. the block actually has a blank hole to take the dipstck at the back of the block into the sump insterad of the front which was handy.. The driveshaft splines are all the same. the radiator hoses are all in the right sides. You do however need to use a bit of each gearbox cross member tto combine them to get the gearbox to bolt up. aparently a r30 lsd is a good upgrade and bolts up. we havent tried to put the r32 r200 on it yet. the loomas are prety easy to work out as nissan use a two piece loom so you keep most of the old loom and use the new one from the skyline purly for the engine. All up was pretty cheap. " laters
