Hey Joel. I didn't see your e-mail on here but please drop me a line as I have a question for you. My e-mail is seanlogan@mailsnare.net

Have fun. You'll be glad all you have is your Ranger, because your Z would get broken into. It's a pretty tough town.

Mike, you're going to UTI in Houston right? If I were you I'd not do anything too fancy that you don't want stolen in the first month. My twin brother went to that UTI and his car was broken into twice, and then stolen. This was in a 6 month period!!! My father and I drove a spare car we had out there in a weekend. That's from Sacramento to Houston in 3 days. Did I mention that when the car was recovered days later, the police took approx. 2 months to notify my father and then charged him fees for storage. So needless to say, watch your car like a hawk, and make the thing look as un bling-bling as possible. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when it'll be broken into and how much stuff will be lost. I've always said a garage is the best alarm money can buy.

What about the Lexus 4L from the SC400?

That looks very interesting. Could you give us some more info on the install?

I know several people here are using South Florida Performance to create their header, and I know at least TimO is having problems with certain aspects of the process. Well I found another company that makes turbo headers and was wondering what you guys thought about them. The tubing is pretty darn thick and the overall header looks well designed. The company is called Full-Race and I read on another board that this was the only header to stand up to a 529hp SR20DET.
Their site is http://www.full-race.com and I'd like to hear what you guys think. I will try to get in touch with them to see if they make custom turbo headers.

The only one I see is for the 90-96 300ZX.

Hey Heavy where in Sac are ya located?

Here's what I found on their site:
"The standard LM-1 includes a Bosch wide-band oxygen sensor and cable, cigarette-lighter adapter, serial cable for PC connection, 9V battery, exhaust bung and plug, CD and manual. The LM-1 ships with a Bosch sensor, however, it can also function with other wide-band sensors, including Honda/NTK and VW sensors.
Available accessories include auxiliary input cables, alligator-clip power cable, exhaust clamp, analog output cable, and Aux. input expander. Additional accessories include a dash-mountable display and AC adapter.
The LM-1 sells for $349, including the oxygen sensor (Bosch LSU4.2), 10' sensor cable, 10' power cable, serial PC cable, and software.."

Ahh much more clear. Thanks for your responses guys.

So that means the Datsun engine forum is gone? Technically it's not a swap. Oh well.

From what the Overboost article said, it was custom made. You could try and find some contact info for ABR, but again you'd need someone who can speak Japanese.
-
You would have to get in touch with ABR, and that would require some japanese skills. As for a number, you might look on the web. Like I said this is not just a kit they stock, it was all custom made.
-
The Kit was custom made by ABR. They are also in Japan and you'd be hard pressed to get that kit unfortunately.
-
This I understand. I may have not been very clear. I want to know what TPS people used since you cannot use the stock one and what they modified to use the stock linkage.
Thanks again.
-
Can anyone provide any info on the TPS they used and how they set it up? I would like to use the stock linkage if at all possible.
Thanks.

Thanks for update Tim!

You may try SPEC Clutches. I've ridden in TimO's Z and it seemed to hold the power very well and didn't chatter too much.

...right to the recall line at the dealer? At least the new SVO Cobra has the torque and HP to move its 3500# heft with authority...(sorry Mike, I had to throw that one in there!)

I'm not sure if many of you guys have heard about this shop or even used their services but they look like they're a top notch shop.
Take a look at this review:

Their website is available at the following link but the last time I checked they were remodeling it:

Oops! I looked at their site and I guess they're redesigning it. You might see if you can look around on the net and find some contact info.

Have you looked at Innovative Turbo Solutions? They make a few really nice looking wastegates and they seem to know their stuff. I believe they were some of the original founders of Turbonetics.
Check them out at:

I'd love to see their pics w/ permission of course.
I stopped at TimO's a week or so back. I will be hard pressed to pass him lemme tell ya. His lil rocket can move for not being tuned comepletely and not being on full boost.
Let me know if you can send those pics.

I've gone for the past 2 years and as long as you stay out of downtown it's pretty fun. It seems a large urban element of people have taken over downtown which kinda sucks. You'll get stuck in traffic for hours because of the cruising.
