  1. If anyone was interested I have a set of his headers I'm looking to sell. They took a little longer to get than they initially thought and I of course had paid for them. I ended up ordering the JTR ones to get the car moving.
  2. Anybody taken the carrier out of an R200vsld or an R230? I'm looking for the way to release the stub axles to get them out the sides. I'm assuming I'm missing something obvious but since they don't bolt from the outside like R180 or R200 there has to be a circlip or something accessible from inside the case. I'm just not seeing it. Thanks for any info. Steve
  3. I wouldn't try drilling the spot welds, even with a spot weld drill it was difficult in there. I finally just got in there with a cutoff wheel and cut the mounts off flush with the tunnel.
  4. It was on their page for their C5 Corvette Accusump kit so I'm assuming it's from that. http://livermoreperformance.com/camaro_vette_engine.html#LP But the link above says camaro_corvette and we know what can happen when one assumes....
  5. Livermore Performance had a pretty cool chart showing the accusump opening overlayed on a chart the G forces experienced on Buttonwillow. It's attached below.
  6. Both Jegs and Summit had them but they're both straight. summit search on '16mm x 1.5 plumbing' Summit has them up to -12 in the 16x1.5. Jegs http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=389976&prmenbr=361 I can't get to the galley port without relocating the alternator, if I remember correctly the alternator isn't on that spot on the vette so you probably have a better shot at using it. Steve
  7. Hey Mike, quick question. I just plumbed to 3 qt accusump into the M16 hole where the stock OP sender was at the back of the motor on top, used aeroquip fitting to -10. Think I should relocate it? It'll get oil through there but not as fast and as direct as to the galley. Steve
  8. Perfect thanks. Basically there has been a bunch of posts talking about the longevity of the VLSD diffs in autocrossing and roadracing. I'm putting in the Q45 R200 because the 3.54 gearing works for my LS1 T56 combo and I used to break ujoints all the time with my stroker motor so I wanted to get rid of them with the LS1 swap. If the VLSD starts to slip it looks like I can get the CLSD made for the 350z and it will work in the carrier, with the ring gear and the stub axles. CLSDs for those cars are pretty plentiful in the aftermarket. Thanks for the info.
  9. Can't find too many pictures of it on the web but I found a picture of the diff cover and it looks like it matches the bolt pattern of the short nose R200. I've attached a pic. I'm swapping the R200 vlsd into my 240 ls1 but would like to possibly go to a clutch style lsd. There are quite a few types available for the 350 and if that happens to be to be the same. Of course then there is the cv ends to contend with, I saw the 350z's one is 6 bolt but it might not be the same bolt pattern as the Q45 R200. Just wondering if anyone's actually had a good look at one. Thanks, Steve
  10. Anyone else gotten the John's cars headers for the LS1 swap? I received mine yesterday and can't say I'm really excited by them. I'll have to do some clean up in the primary tubes where they're welded to the flanges and the overall design definitely isn't what I wa expecting. My fault I guess for not trying to get a picture of them before I ordered them. Think I'll bite the bullet and order JTRs ones, they really look like nice pieces.
  11. They're having a half off sale this weekend. I pulled the diff to get the axle shafts, the diff is sitting under the car. It's in the primo yard if anyone is looking. Should cost you around $40. Steve
  12. Had this car apart for awhile and it used to have a pretty stout 3 litre with triple SKs header and so forth. It's really just going to be a track/autocross/really uncomfortable street car so it's got a cage (afraid to post pics after the spanking the Vollkswagen guy got her), fual cell, racing seats and so on. Have a couple of sets of R180 and R200 that I swapped in and out to change gear ratios but need to install a LSD. Since I decided to go the LS1/T56 route I wanted to sort the rear end before I needed to get the driveshaft made. I just picked up a Q45 3.54 Diff (Pick a Part $60)so I'm going that route with Ross's adapters and axles. Suspension: ground control camber plates on all 4 corners, shortened struts, coil overs, koni inserts Brakes: JSK 4 lug kits front and rear running wilwood superlites through a proportioning valve with a line lock For wheels I'm running 245/45/17s on 4 lug 8.5" wheels using long Moroso studs and 5/8 aluminum adapters, it just barely clears the rolled fender and the coil overs. I'll throw some pics up in a member gallery. Steve
  13. Been lurking here and at ls1tech for awhile, tons of useful info on both sites. Thanks for posting and working through so many issues you've encountered. Time permitting probably a month or so from completion. Steve Couple pics.
