  1. Be very clear when working with a fabricator (including someone like me) about what work is being done for the price quoted. $2K sounds reasonable for the physical installation but plumbing, electrical, linkages, radiator, exhaust, driveshaft, and all the other little BS that's required to end up with a running car might be extra - a whole lot extra.
  2. The stock 240Z ride height is aorund 8" and a really low, good handling 240Z has about a 5" ride height (measured at the rockers). A 3" drop would be plenty for your goals. Print out the Strut Sectioning FAQ. Good choice with 225/50-15 tires. Probably the best tire and wheel size combination for a 240Z. That will get you 1" of the 3" total drop you shoudl shoot for. The remaining 2" comes from the sectioning and ride height adjustment on the threaded lower spring perch. Print out the Strut FAQ. Money is always an issue, even if you have a lot of it. I charge $500 to disassemble, clean, media blast, cut, weld, weld on the lower threaded collar ring, and paint a set of 240Z struts. You can do most of that yourself and save about $400 of that if you have a welder just do the welding for you.
  3. I'm surprised you guys are looking at .375 and .500 thick spacers. I've done a few of these and all I've done (for the 240Z) have required a .625" spacer.

    Pass TC box failure

    From the album: Evan 240Z

The frame section above the TC rod (the TC box area) has rusted through and has buckled. The TC rod mount is pushed up as a result of suspension loads going into the rusted area.

    From the album: Evan 240Z

The frame section above the TC rod (the TC box area) has rusted through and has buckled. The TC rod mount is pushed up and in and the frame rail has been bent, straightened, and been bent again. Most likely a result of the left front suspension being run into a curb.

    Crack frame rail

    From the album: Evan 240Z

Driver's side frame rail has cracked and separated from the floor pan. The forward part of the frame rail has been bent, straightened, and bent again most likely from the left front suspension hitting a curb very hard.
