  1. i have seen them around alot but will only go for one if its a great deal since i wont use it for awhile becouse it would be for my skyline . i want to start putting more effort into my v8240z this winter.
  2. yasin,,,do you have a hookup on the crank??? i would say go for it , but if you decide not to ill take it if its local and not crazy expensive!!!
  3. check your valve clearance and set it to spec.. that is if you are able to start it on the satnd becouse it is supposed to be set while hot. besides that keep a eye on ebay and your local craigs list for a car to put it in... good luck and have fun.......
  4. id rather have turbomiesters Z. all that "custom" body work is really ugly!
  5. thanks for the link kechup.. i dont have time to read it until sunday but it looks like it will be able to answer all my questions.
  6. great job!!! you owe your buddy big time for the exhaust work, it looks great . ive been contimplating on turboing my v8 240z, but i spent all my money on a 74 skyline.. would your buddy be interested in building another set for some cash??? also what did you do to the carb to let you blow through it? i have a draw through setup on a l28 and have been curious about what it takes to blow through. i thought you have to totally box in the carb and do some other things check this out.. http://www.racingjunk.com/post/695030/VORTECH-SUPERCHARGER-CARBURETOR-BOX-ENCLOSURE.html i know they are expesive but they really cool.
  7. hey 240zed, is the low side of your pan in the front or rear??ill get pics hopefully this weekend. thanks alot Green, ill keep that in mind!
  8. i have the japanese title and the import documents
  9. im sorry green, i dont understand, you can get me "one" what? i have a good budy of mine that was trying to talk me into dropping a small block into it , but i think that would be a bit sacreligious ,and i already have a v8Z. And i love my l28, it has a t3/t4 turbo , holey 750 four barrel with direct port nitrious. i ran a 12.79 last year in my z without the notrious and that was a mile up.
  10. i honestly dont know but isnt the stroke shorter on the l20? i want more displacement not less. AKWIKZ, how much does your kenmeri weigh? mine feels really heavy compaired to my two zcars. i think im going to start collecting stroker parts this winter , im going to need the extra torque to push this heavy thing around.
  11. rusty let me know when your near the denver area , you could come check it out if you like.
  12. yep,, thats the one,, it needs some body work , but im going to focuse on macking it fast first. i will try to get some pics up soon. does anyone want to buy a l20a motor, and trany???
  13. i just recently purchased a 74 rhd skyline with intentions of putting my turbo motor in it , and i just found my first problem. after i had the L20a hanging in the air from my hoist i realized that the oil pan is the opposite to the L28 , so that the hump was at the front to clear the stearing arms, but the l28 the hump is in the rear to clear the steering rack. i cant beleive that i didnt see it before , but i tend to drink while i work on my cars. anyways i did a rough measurement with the l28 on my stand and it seems that it might be 1.5 inches to short but it is hard to tell since i didnt check the clearance before hand , and i also have the tranny out so i cant throw it back in and check. i guess my question is has any one here done that conversion and do you think im ok??
  14. i honestly dont know. i bought it 2 years ago and didnt pay much attention to it until now.
  15. i have a p90 head that i bought off of ebay a couple of years ago with no other info besides that it had been rebuilt. anyways the head has a couple of stamps on it which includes the date of nov. 2001, and a stamp that says CMF 2675. they are all yellow stamps. does anyone have any ideas what shop did this?
  16. ive searched but did not find what i was looking for. my knowledge of tire and rim terms arent that great so please deal with me. ive got a 280z that has a draw though carb turbo set up that i just use for drag racing and im looking for a set of rims and tires that will be very light, fit and look nice. i want slicks in the rear and small narrow tires in the front. i have slicks now on stock rims but they are very small and i am at 7500 rpm at the end of the track and that is only running mid 12s with out my nitrious. i have stock drum brakes and suspesion and am willing to cut away at the wheel wells but not the fenders. i dont know anything about offsetting rims so please help. also what is the stock bolt pattern . the 280z i have now is a peice of junk and plan on switching my setup to a 240z in the near future if that matters. thanks alot
  17. thanks for your thoughts guys, im going to use some sort of custom smaller radiator which should keep engine temps low enough sense it is just going to be used for drag only, also its going to be alcohol injected so it will be running cooler anyway. i know that two intercoolers is alittle overkill, i just figured that if the turbo was mounted upfront the intake charge is going to be routed infront of the radiator anyway. Lason, how do you plan on mounting the turbo in front of the motor??? even if you use a smaller or electric water pump and a electric fan i dont see it fitting. it would be ideal for routing the exhaust though.
  18. i know some of you like turbo meister have done twin turbo v8s, but i have been thinking of doing a single monster turbo on my v8 z but cant find any pics or info. i love watching some of those outlaw mustangs with the single huge turbos, and want to try with my 240. im a chevy guy , but i really respect the power they are making. im mostly concerned about routing the exhaust to the turbo. i want to mount the turbo on the drivers side infront of the radiator and send the charge directly into a intercooler then , ( this might be overkill ) into a water to air intercooler inside the passenger side of the car then back into the engine bay. ANY THOUGHTS??????
  19. and if you want to get rid of that turbo on your audi let me know!!!!
  20. your going to have a hard time running boost with a n/a motor. i would recomend finding a turbo motor that would give you a more desireable comp ratio. the stock bottom end in these turbo motors were over built and can handle some serious horse power. if you want a motor that can handle 400-500 hp. you are going to need some things like arp rod bolts and head studs to name a couple.
  21. tim ,, i've been stearing for ten minutes now and i still cant figure out what those six fuel or nitrios looking lines with the blue an fittings that go from your intake manifold to just after your injectors into the head,
  22. $900??? is that really the price,, if so does it say if the rods, crank, or pistons forged??? and how would you order it?
  23. ive got a set of triple weber 40s and the manifold if your lookin. email me at brandonmcbride@yahoo.com
  24. helix and clifton, i know those numbers arent super impressive, but like i said ive only taken it to the track twice netting five passes. i havent gottin a chance to do much tuning and its not street legal so i cant try on the steet, you guys are also at sealevel, try a mile up.
