  1. Thank you sir, same basic procedure as a mustang, and now I see the search bar alls well.
  2. Well, this is different, first off I can't find the search button/location anywhere, so a location on that would be great. On to my question, I'm parting out a 280zx parts car and I honestly don't know if I can drop the transmission (manual)without pulling the motor? A yes or no would be great on that, also are there any snags to watch out for when dropping the transmission. I will be doing this with jackstands and 3 ton floor jacks, no lift.
  3. Well found my problem, injectors were CLOGGED, big time, and now they have blown out my hoses. So yay! found the problem, and bump me. This Z is a lost cause, bout ready to give up on it completely, just get another one.
  4. Might have to try that, i've been fiddling with my afm non-stop. I can go from 10 gears rich to 10 gears lean, absolutely no difference in popping. I think timeing is going to be my next venture. But i might go try that now.
  5. another for eastern NC, not a big market on the cars around here, The yellow looks good, and im hsure its a bit quicker than the scooter, better in the rain too.
  6. I couldn't decide where to post this but it has cleared up a lot of questions i had about adjusting the AFM. http://www.well.com/user/mosk/AFM1.htm
  7. top right of the list of threads box that reads (new topic)

  8. Did anyone ever solve this problem? Im having nearly identical issues with my 83 zx 2+2, slight intermitent puff at idol, then radical popping (backfire?) under initial exeleration, and no pooping at cruise unless im in fifth. The pop is only noticable under light load, ie granny driving, if i get on it it doesn't do it, at least not as bad. The last bastion of hope i have is in my vavles, it sounds like a diesel, would that cause this? edit: non turbo, stock motor, new intake/manifold gasket
  9. how do you start a new thread?

  10. Evergreen Turbo Co., all my svo and assorted turbo ford friends swear by them, and you can look on a certain site (i won't say the name, they kinda pissed me off) and its the only turbo rebuilder they reccomend. I think the last rebuild i qouted was 350 for a stock garret t3 at $350.
  11. Alright, one bit of good news, now the ecu question? any takers?
  12. Will the ecu in an 83 280zxt with an automatic work if I swap in a five speed? or do i need an ecu for a five speed? Also, will i have to swap the crank for a five speed conversion. Did a search on both and i couldn't find anything on my ecu question, and think i have a no on the crank switching. I would appreciate a quick response on this.
  13. Narrowed it down, I believe its a valve problem now. I have replaced the intake exhaust gasket and checked the clearance on the pipes. Seems to be more in the vavles. They're terribly out of adjustment, its currently a diesel , hoping when I get them dialed in it will go away or atleast calm down. Worst case the PO burned up a valve when the gasket blew out. Hoping and praying thats not the case. I don't think it would run as good as it does in the high revs with a burnt valve though.
