In regards to steering travel on the subaru rack. This might help. Post 1 and 2. They don't mention it in detail however...
-
It will be tight, and you may rub the fenders, I did... I have 3" flares on my z, and I originally had 295/50-15 on the back, but they rubbed any time I sneezed, heh... I'm now running 265's, and rubbing occasionally, using AZC red springs and strut inserts...
Here's a pic of 'in construction' with the 295's...
...and with the 265's

It worked for me. Great write up Wheelman! One obversation though was the offset u-joint polarity in the steering shaft. I know its not a drive shaft, but doesn't the same rule apply?
Cheers!

As far as the powersteering is concerned, check out this thread if you havn't seen it yet...

I believe the Blazers came with the Saginaw pumps, wich are large, and may require some modification, not shure as i dont know of anyone using the large pump.
A lot of us doing the Subaru rack swap are using the much smaller GM Type II power steering pump, wich are easy to come by. However this pump uses a remote resivor, wich is easily mounted to the fender or core support.
Cheers

Definatly nice... Now if i could just find some wheel blanks in the right style i would knock a set out, heh...

ditto, we used a chain and a turnbuckle to help minimize engine movement on a SBC chevy luv pickup... with the turnbuckle we didnt have to weld the chain to the frame, we just fabricated a mount that could be removed if we wanted, and the turnbuckle would take out the slack...

i think i had that same manifold on my 327 Z... its a nice piece, but the water outlets i believe are just for convience... it may hav some cooling benefit, but i wasnt aware of it...
i pluged the rear two off if i remember right, the front passanger side was a barbed fitting for the water heater, and the front drivers side was for my water temp/fan... id say the only downside to that manifold (cosmeticly speaking) is all the junk that settles and/or stains in the valley...

heres a 'whale tail', which in my opinion, are too big, but i kept it anyways because it fits with the body kit... im not shure how functional it is, i doubt they are, oh and it only looks good from the back... =)

the taurus fan can be found easily and for cheap, probabily less than 30 dollars.. its a 2speed fan, its fairly quiet, pulls a lot of air, and its easy to set up. however it does hav a shroud, but i would recommend keeping and modifying the shroud to fit the radiator... see also the thread above, good info there...
cheers~

ya, theres a steep learning curve on the timing chain tensioner if u dont keep tension on it, ive learned this the hard way, heh... and it is a PITA to take the front cover off when i didnt hav to in the first place if i had payed better attention to some advice from some friends... good luck!

i like the custom one, but i agree w/ pparaska and Z48LT-1, and would brush it... but you still might need to coat it because it may oxidize if its aluminium...
cheers

are those newer mustang taillights???
ya, im hoping the with the extra space i wont be leaving smokey contrails when i drive through those long bumps in the road, that and the tire rubbing is taking its toll on the flares...

heres a similar bulkhead fitting i used EAR-963303ERL, avialable at summit... of course you will still need the nut and washer, -AN nuts and ferrules, and if ur using factory equipment, you may need a 10mm X -3 AN adapter for the "T" in the back, above the differential, if ur plumbing back that far... anyways, good luck!
cheers

any luck bart??? i partially fixed my lt1... pulled the dizzy off and something wasnt right inside, cuase there was metal and plastic dust all over inside(msd optispark dizzy, fairly new, installed wrong?), wich we figured gave us our backfire problem... and since we fixed that the other problem went away... but i still dont know what caused the initial problem... hmm...

it seems to be marginal at best... that and the 280z isolater would be the same height as mine w/ the spacer ive been told....
-
hows the progress on the vg-pickup???
-
hows the progress Oz??? any new developments???

heres my Z w/ 295's on it, i had a lot of rubbin goin on... also an old pic, and obviously no strutspacers...
heres a look of the gain w/ the strutspacer installed, of course this pic was of the new SS fuelline... tire size is now 265, and there is no rear end, no gas tank... and im running the red springs from Arizona Z Car that fit in the factory spring perches...
-
first off, chek the fuse if u havnt already, then throw a test light on the switch, that would be the first places i would check... i once had a switch that went out of adjustment and would short circuit internally and blow the fuse every time the pedal came back up...
cheers

heh, i had 295's on the rear of my z for a bit, but they rubbed every time i murdered bee on the windshield... so i bumped down to 265's, and my friends still make fun of me, cuz if i still hit a good bump i leave smokey contrails off of my rear fender flares... course im runnin 10" wheels, and they easily hav an inch from the edge of the tire to the stock spring perch... so w/ proper wheel spacing i suppose i wouldnt hav this problem... well, hopefuly w/ my strutspacers(http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127150) i wont... good luck =)
cheers

well, progress is slow, but plumbing the car is the latest... here is the pics of the 1/2" stainless hardline that runs from above the half shaft in the rear, along the "frame rail" and up the firewall to the regulator... the brake system is next, *grin*...
cheers

wheelman, i measured my rack as best as i could being the boots are on... these measurements are approximate being that i was trying to feel for items to measure from under the rack boots...
rack housing width: 18" +/-
inner rack width: 23.5" +/-
they seem to match your measurements... also, mine has the coarse spline...

I cut my fittings about an inch or so out of the rack, then welded -AN fittings in place...
