(Not sure where to post this) I cross posted this to members projects as well. Hello, Was browsing multiple forums and decided to try out Hybridz for advice. I bought a 1977 280z Frankenstein of a car with an '83 280zx turbo engine swap in 2014 for around five grand. I drove it around for a year or so and it died on me after removing the previous owners sound system. Life got in the way and the car had a parasitic draw and sat for around 15 months. I just brought it to a shop and had the fuel system flushed with new filters, however, got robbed on the price in my opinion. I did some general maintenance (oil, spark plugs, coolant) and have been driving it around for the past week. The car is far from stock and I was hoping some of you guys could help me by identifying what I have. Any help is much appreciated! Below is a numbered imgur album. Sorry it is alot of pictures. My knowledge is weak and I know I need to find a service manual, but I don't know where to start. Its pretty fast when the turbo kicks in, I believe its running around 12 pounds of boost if the gauge is accurate. Definitely kicks your head back. http://imgur.com/a/4uGkb

Hi guys, I've been looking at various wheels and am thoroughly confused as to what you use to determine if a set of wheels either fits or can be widened to fit on a 73' 240z. What method do you use? I am looking at 14" SSR Star Formula rims but have no way of knowing if they either a) fit or b ) can be made to fit via widening/springs? I found a guy who does have these on his 240z but he said he had them widened and gave me the following: -front 14×8 5+15 Toyo 185-60-14" -rear 14×10 5-47 Toyo 195-55-14" - broader 13cm rear + flares - widened fiberglass front fenders (does that mean wide zg fender flares??) Is this enough to buy the wheels and send them to a shop that can "make them fit"? Currently, I have stock I apologize for my ignorance but I'm a bit overwhelmed looking up tire aspect ratio, tire width, wheel width, offset, backplate, bolt pattern, etc. as these are all new terms to me. Below is the setup I want to get, implemented on that 240z.

Hey Guys! My name is Chapin, and im a 19 year old collision repair and refinishing student from Iowa! I was going to post in the new members, but i will be posting updates and photos as i go, Im also looking for input from experienced members! I purchased a 1976 Datsun 280z recently. I haved always loved the s30 body lines and decided to find one that i could rescue. The car needs plenty of body work but im not concerned, it still has a reasonable paint job but being that it was driven for several years in Minnesota it will need a touch of rust repair or replacement. The motor was stripped of the factory fuel injection, (I assume the owner ran into problems) and installed was a Holley 390 4 Barrel and Arizona z car intake. Ive had some time trying to figure out the carb, but with some help ive got the car up and running with a slight timing issue. One question is: Im not sure what route is the best in this situation, my ultimate goal is to restore and also build a classic car. And im looking into all sorts of motor swaps. basically my thoughts are * Rebuild with triple weber carbs * sr20 * later zx turbo motor * buy an l28/rebuild I just wanted to say Hey! and let you know that im anxious to learn! Im also open to some paint color ideas im sure i havent thought of every color! but right now im leaning towards the Emerald Green Metallic
