280Dan
Every time I step on my brakes the fuse for the brake lights/horn blows. I changed the fuse and if I use the horn it's fine but the second I use the brakes it's shot. Any help would be appreciated.
deja
Take out all the bulbs that light up when you hit the brakes and clean the sockets, use some contact cleaner. Also check for a short on the brake light switch located on the brake pedal.

twofouroh
- There's another possibility - The old bulb sockets were known for having weak contact plates that can be twisted inside the socket as they get older - one of your sockets may have twisted, and the brake light lead has shorted to the ground, or the parking lights circuit. Either would overload the circuit and blow the fuse. Unplug each tail harness from the body harness and check each side for a short to ground in the tail harness. Find which side it is, then figure out which socket it is, and replace it.
