Siberian Husky
There was a molded spoiler that was startin to go bad underneath. I stripped it off and found some rust. Wire wheeled my way to this. How bad is this pitting rust and what is the best way to remedy it? johnc
Not bad. Spray with a high zinc primer, POR15, or some other rust treatment.
jpuga
Looks like u got some small holes... Make sure u treat both side of the metal and you should. You could just add a little filler to cover them up but definitely treat the metal with pot
Meph
a cheap hand held sandblaster (10-20 dollars) and a compressor is the best treatment before paint.
280z4me2
I always use phosphoric acid to clean rusted metals. You can buy a gallon from home depot for about $15.00. It will actuallytake rust completely off or turn pitted rust into a black color which is chemically converted(no more rust). Do a quick google search on instructions for it. Its super easy and works great!
Pharaohabq
pitted isn't so bad, so long as it's not all the way through the panel. (look at the other side to make sure) once you're certain of that, por15 and a high build primer should be fine.
