Sinterpuck
Hi there, new on the forums and my english might not be the best in the world but i hope you guys can understand me Well, the diff in my 280zx have thrown in it's towel and said that it dont want to play with me anymore. It is the pin that goes thrue the diff house and holds the gears in place. The pin in the picture. The gears is worn down aswell so the diff have done it's job. Well, what im wondering is if i can take the diff from another car and fit in the differential house, i heard some rumors that a diff from a Nissan 200sx (might be called 240sx in the us) and 300zx can be bolted in the house. But im not sure about that so i have to ask if you guys know if that is true? If you know if the diff from any other car can fit please write it down in the thread. And well to finish of the thread i have to say that it is more or less impossible to find another diff in sweden thank's to the cars being rare up here. //Sinterpuck EDIT: Forgot to say that it is a R200 diff. NewZed
http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/forum/83-drivetrain/ Topics 2, 5, and 13 are your best starting places. Hopefully, you've looked around and found these already. There's also a search option in the upper right corner of the page.
ovenfood
do you have the D20 nissan pathfinders there? The 4x4 one's with an LSD have a diff center that fit. The issue wit the R200 out of the S13 is that the bolt holes are 12mm instead of 10mm and to fit the half shafts require either a modification or a complete change depending on which diff you get.
