PETEW
Hey guys, A friend of mine is looking for a complete motor, and a transmission. The motor can be carb or fuel injected. We would prefer a 5 speed but willing to take 4 speeds, as well. If anyone has anything in the NE ( We live in Pa, but are willing to travel) let me know. We are trying to get this car running pretty quickly, so looking for something that doesn't need a complete rebuild right off that bat. Thanks for the help. cygnusx1
Can you pick up an engine in NY? I just pulled a motor out of a 77 ZAP that was running well. It has somewhere in the 100k mile range. It sounded like it needed an exhaust manifold gasket or just a drill and tap of the rearmost manifold stud. That stud is broken in the head.. Good compression. It needs a water pump and an alternator, maybe a crank pulley if I need it for the new engine. No trans. $130. I also have the EFI harness and box. $
mrw
I have a 77 with a 4 speed. It was pulled a few years ago after being parked for a number of years. I was planning on doing a v8 swap but switched to a 240 for the swap. Injectors are probably gummed up. I have owned the car for over 20 years, bought it with 44k and parked it with 65k. It will probably take a little work to get it running if you are sticking with fuel injection. I am located in northern Delaware. Make me an offer. I do have a 5 speed that i ran for a while but 3rd gear started to wine so I pulled it out. Zip code is 19807 if you want to see how far I am. I can load it in you truck. zedsn
Hi, I have a nice 76,000 mile 280z 4 speed that you could have for $50. I am located in the Cleveland Ohio area and could possibly meet you somewhere for more $. If you are interested let me know.

Z-Gad
Ok, guys. Still looking. Cygnusx1 I am sending you a PM. Really just need a motor, and one that is ready to go. Hi Pete, do you just need the long block (head and block), or do you need the whole deal (carbs, exhaust, etc... Either way, I may have one for you depending on what you need... Shoot me a PM and I'll send you my phone number to chat... Also in PA (zip 17268) Regards, mike
cygnusx1
Yep, still have a 77 motor. Needs a few minor parts...alternator, starter, water pump, heater hose fitting in the head. It has 150k miles on it. I confirmed with the previous owner. The engine was driven to my house from 45 minutes away and I drove it around before I pulled it out. Seemed fine. The previous owner said the compression numbers were fine. It was pulled for a turbo swap.
PETEW
Thanks for getting back to me guys. I would really like to see some shots of these motors with the valve cover taken off. I've driving all over the NE here seeing engines with wiped cams, timing chains with 2" of slack in them, etc. These were all supposed to be ready to run. I don't think any of these guys knew their motors were bad, but they never took the covers off to see what was going on. Sorry if this is a hassle, but it just saves the seller and buyer some time, because the valve cover is coming off when I show up. Not trying to be a jerk, just up front and honest. I need a motor that is going to be ready to go with out a major rebuild. Thanks.
