JSM
So nice, clean and simple. I'm sure it must be night and day to work on. EDIT: What is that huge piece of aluminum bolted, what looks like, to the front of the block for? Edited August 7, 2011 by JSM
Dan Juday
What is that huge piece of aluminum bolted, what looks like, to the front of the block for? That's to make sure all the motor rumble makes it to the drivers seat. Nice build BTW. Edited August 7, 2011 by Dan Juday
19762802+2
So nice, clean and simple. I'm sure it must be night and day to work on. EDIT: What is that huge piece of aluminum bolted, what looks like, to the front of the block for? I think they are called motor plates(?) they keep the motor from flexing to the side when revved, basically instead of loosing a bit of torque from the motor twisting on the motor mounts it keeps the motor in place. Also makes it easier to take the motor in and out.
HKSdrift3r
Yup motorplate it is.. As cool as it is, its still a pain in the butt, especially trying to get my alternator set up with the electric water pump. HowlerMonkey
I'm curious what other beast you have that gave up it's magneto for this car.
Chaparral2f
I'm using motor plates too, but mine aren't nearly as heavy as yours. Of course I also have a rear plate. I know what you're going through with the alternator. If you find a solution, please post it up because the alternator mount is making me crazy. Its good to see someone else using a Vertex Mag, only difference is that mine has the external coil.
HKSdrift3r
Working on the alternator issue now, havent had time with work so busy lately. I had a used external Vertex but it didnt work, even with a Joe Hunt coil. Need to send it out to get checked out. Nice work bud!
