280z coil over help please

Recommended Posts

I have a 280z and just had some ground control coilovers welded and installed at a local shop. If I lower the car to where there is still 2 inches from the fender to my tire, the car is sitting on it's bumpstops. With the coilover adjusted all the way to the top only allows 1.5 inches to lower. Is the way its suppose to be. If so this was a total waste of money because my tokico springs lowered it more.

Well I contacted the company that was suppose to section the struts today and they did not section the struts. They just cut off the perch and welded on the new coilover perch. They stated with my tokiko strut cartridges where too big to fit in a sectioned strut housing. Well there went 1200 dollars for just labor. I asked them how much to section them like I wanted with a set of shorter strut cartridges and the price is the same for the labor. So that is 2400 dollars for a set of sectioned struts not including new cartridges. Man this is getting rediculous.

You got ripped dude.

I didn't know you could send them in to Techno Toy to get them done??

Where else can you send them?

I've been wanting to do a coilover conversion for a long time but the welding and cost/installation of camber plates has kept me from it. Do I really need plates?
