  1. If I'm reading this right the entire kit is 71,400 yen.. 743.52 USD???
  2. I put these in when I restored my dash, pics.
  3. How were you able to mount these to the panel?
  4. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PM'd
  5. If it wasn't for Hybrid Z, I would know very little outside the shop manual. But that's the point. This is where the shop manual ends and where innovation starts. This isn't Classic Zcar Club. It's on this website that the most notable and most well known Z cars are documented, and where the rest of us can get access to the knowledge that went into building those cars. Maybe that concept isn't pronounced enough at the forefront.
  6. I've read both as well but it seems more like a liability. They tell you not to use the stock clutch but don't tell you what qualifies as a proper clutch for the application. That way they can't be held liable for anything that happens regardless of what clutch you use. You pretty much have to warn people that they should never use your product under any circumstances these days, people lack tremendous grasp of the obvious.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I definitely think Z cars that are modified have a much greater interest and value than ones that have been restored back to original condition. Unless it's a scarab or something..
  8. Thought this deserved a heads up to the Hybrid Z community: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-NOS-Vintage-Nissan-Datsun-Parts-Models-280z-810-ect-Pumps-clutches-/150919402742?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23237f54f6&vxp=mtr It's not mine. Bought a supercharger though!
  9. If money is the biggest factor I would recommend Ground Control coilovers. They are the least expensive option if you can take the suspension apart yourself and take it somewhere to have the struts cut and the perches welded on. I've never read anything bad about them so that's what I bought. If you want a shop to do all the work I would go with a strictly bolt on set up, provided doing it in your garage isn't an option. As for the Megan Coilovers, I read a couple bad reviews. This is just speculation though.
  10. This might be a noob question but did you have to modify your MSI v3.0 board to run MSnS?
  11. I was unaware how rare factory A/C and a Velo Rossa were.. ...$18,000 rare? Yellow V8 280z with a "period correct sunroof" and G Nose..... $19,250" 280z with original(ish) interior, stock L28E w/ 4 speed, and rare factory AC! - $18,250 Super original 280z, with high performance stock motor, and original 10 inch rear disk brakes! - $18,150 Oh and guess what's for sale again? 1977 280zx G Nose!
  12. I have MSA coated headers and twice pipes/twin glasspacks. I like. Sounds good and was inexpensive, had to weld up some pipes. They will eventually hollow out, as mentioned glasspacks are cheap. I get asked if it's a V8.... oh the direction this country is headed.
  13. Anyone know where I can get ONE 17x9.5 wheel? I curb rashed one of mine parking in an old neighborhood with some goofy curbs. Maybe it's not even worth a fix, then again..
  14. I can't figure out where the $101,000 was spent? Did Jay Leno hand build this car? A fool and his money are easily separated...
  15. Yep, saw that Rocky Auto set up in Super Street. It's an Eaton but no info on what type. Manifold looks custom from scratch. I have L28ET injectors on the parts shelf already. My biggest questions are about mounting an Eaton supercharger to the JCR manifold, and then the throttle body set up. Thanks for the info on the coilpacks, that cleared up some confusion. What's the advantage to having them over an L28ET distributor? Maybe it might be eliminating that stupid thing, my distributor's vacuum advance has always been a problem. EDIT: OH those pics on their website help clarify how this thing gets piped up A LOT. Double thanks and extra kudos.
  16. Bro, you're in Germantown? You probably live like 10 minutes from my house! I live off Frank rd, next to CHS.
  17. Careful, the 280z is a very easy car to steal. Someone who comes prepared could do it in a minute flat without damaging a thing.
  18. I'm trying to work out the details of a fuel injected supercharger set up so I can take it from a pipe dream to a reality (provided I can figure out how to do it). I have a few questions, and my experience with supercharged cars is limited to having driven them (learned to drive on one.. liked it a lot ) It also must run with AC!!! (or I'll have to go with ITBs instead) I. The Blower! Max, the blower!: First thing, found a supercharger manifold from an old Jim Cook Racing kit! I don't want to go with a Camden unit for various reasons, so I'm wondering what other options I have regarding other superchargers. I'm looking for something of similar dimensions because it must fit under the stock hood. Will anything fit the mounts for the Camden unit? If not, then recommendations on how to mount it? (adapter plate? weld up and drill?) What size snout do I need to make it work? II. Blow off valve & Injectors: I've referenced this thread a lot when brainstorming: azcarbum's custom JCR kit I'm going to do exactly what he did with the injectors. I want to run 7~9psi so is a blow off valve a good idea? If so how/where would I mount it? Recommendations on injectors, sizes? III. Coilpacks: Looking at azcarbum's build. Why? Do I need them? IV. Throttle Body: Where do I mount this? It was obvious to put it where the carb was in azcarbum's build.. but not sure where it should go in my set up. Any recommendations on what to use/where it would go? V. Intercooling: Nope. VI. Oil Pan: How do I keep this baby cool? VII. ECU If you have a MS unit for sale, PM me! Engine specs: L28 ~2k on a rebuild N42 Head, ported and polished. Schneider Stage II Cam MSA 6-2 Headers Stock FI (won't be for long)
  19. I think you should take the R200 out and VG30ET out of the 300ZX and put it in the 280Z
