emeraldlion
Yeah, this may be a moment of stupidity, but when I first started pulling stuff I threw out the ignition box that mounts in the passenger footwell. Not sure why. Am I actually going to need that when I start wiring up? The JTR manual states you only need to wires going into the box, but does that mean you need the box to be there and plugged in? If so, anyone got a spare?

emeraldlion
Unless it's a carb'd swap and has no ignition module? Just wiring straight to the HEI
NewZed
I have a 76 with a GM HEI module. The stock ignition module is completely disconnected and everything works fine - tachometer, ECU, etc. It won't be needed if you're using a different ignition system. It's apparent from the wiring diagrams also, if you want to be positive.
