garyneedsz
So i just finished assembling my l28 and started it. the motor sounded like it was misfiring so i checked the orientation of the oil shaft. The big side was pointing towards the front at TDC, so i dropped the pump and made it so that the small side was facing the front at roughly 11:25 orientation. I reassembled everything and the dizzy rotor was pointing towards the front, but the rotor was pointing between the L headlight and coolant hose. The #1 on the cap was ahead of the the rotor (clockwise of it) about one centimeter. I went to go start it, and all i heard was two loud knocks. This is MOST likely a IGNITION timing issue, i have double-triple-checked everything. Possibilities: If i didn't prime the oil pump prior to reassembly, would it cause this to happen? Is my timing still off?
