78ZDude
I need help sorting my fuse block issues. The PO had installed a new fuel pump and a toggle switch that activates the relays under the hood, which also turns on fuel pump. Runs fine. I Just want to fix it properly. Trying to get away from the afro engineering. The toggle switch is connected to the pos+ side of the battery. then to a white/black wire going to fuse block. When I flip the toggle switch on, relays/ignition chime and indicator light bulb check come alive. With only having haynes its hard to determine what the wire is from. Is the white/black wire suppose to get voltage when the ignition switch is turned on? maybe the ignition switch or associated wiring is broken and and this is acting as the switch now...? also what has been done to update the fuse block to blade type... ? I am looking into hella 16 Gang fuse block Thanks for the help, Adam Edited November 16, 2011 by 78ZDude
74Adam
Hey Adam, I don't have an answer but I would also like to install a blade style fuse box into my 78, so I'm curious to see what you come up with. I suppose if enough of us hassle Dave, he might make a fuse box for the later years like the nice one he came up with for the 240. Probably won't happen since the 280 fuse box didn't have the problems that the 240 did. Also, have you looked into a brand called "Blue Sea"? They make what looks like really high quality electrical parts, including fuse boxes. Their stuff is marine grade, if the name didn't already give that away cheers Edited November 16, 2011 by 74Adam
NewZed
Here is more than Haynes - http://www.xenons30.com/reference.html . Look in the Electrical and the Engine Fuel sections. Small wiring diagrams in each. I would bet good money that the person who modified your wiring looked more like you than Afro American. No need to expose your prejudice or lack of awareness to the world. Just keep it hidden. This a car forum.
