sito
So I was nearly stranded the other day when I tried starting my car and all I hear is this whirring or whining sound. Car doesn't turn over no ignition at all... Crap thought the worst and figured it might have been my MS setup or engine related. Turns out my starter somehow was loose and I was able to get the car started by holding the starter in place. Go home check it out the next day and somehow (I have no idea) I'm missing the bottom bolt for my starter. Top bolt was the only one holding the starter to the motor and I'm surprised I didn't lose my starter driving around. Does anyone have extra starter bolts they can sell me? or at least point me in the right direction to get some? Or even know the dimensions of them so I can replace with similar bolts? Any help is much appreciated Thanks Pat
z240
The bolts are 10 x 1.5 mm. length is around 30mm Measure from the face of the trans case to the starter flange where the bolt goes through and add 15mm. You are indeed lucky.
BluDestiny
Just take out the top on and bring it to a lowes or something and get 2 new bolts. Thats what I did with practically every bolt in my engine bay.
