emeraldlion
Has anyone attached the trim ring to their 280 tail ilght in a fashion that did not require the tiny screws? Most of the pot metal for each screw is cracked and does not hold well. I was also unable to find screws with a shaft small enough to fit. Any alternative suggestions? emeraldlion
Thanks, that's the route I felt I was going to go, but wasn't sure if there was enough lip to get decent adhesion. The only thing I don't like is the thought of not being able to take it off to touch up paint, oh well.
RB240zDET
I used RTV sealant. If in the case that I had to remove them again and Rechrome them I could easily remove the trim from the surrounding light housing.
emeraldlion
And that held it on sufficiently? Sounds like a better option. I have some black silicone sealant in the garage from sealing the trans tunnel.

Good enough hold to keep it in yet not permanent so you can remove it later for whatever reason needed.
