tyler031734
I have 4 500lb springs that im not using... Id like to drive my 240z down some of the not so best roads in Portland without being shook apart. Looking for some nice street springs at a good price, or trade these 500's off. Anyone want to put in on what springs they use on there street car? Thanks
RebekahsZ
I've got 225# in front, 250# in back. Had them for 10 years and love them. I'd drive them across the country. I'm having a little trouble with them in my LS2 swap though-when I take off at part throttle, the car will sometimes buck a little and I get an oscillation from front to back like a bucking horse. Then my big foot on my light-little drive-by-wire pedal gets to bucking in synch and next thing I know, the car is like hopping down the road and I can only stop it by either getting off the throttle or flooring it. Weirdest thing. Anyway, the ride is stiff but really nice-the suspension does work at these spring rates and it is not rough. I am running 225/50/15 or 16 tires at 30psi with Tokico Illuminas. I'm wondering if I just need to be smoother, put a stiffer spring on the DBW pedal, or go to Konis (not this year). Are the 500s just awful on the street? tyler031734
I never drove the #500's but the PO drove them for a half mile on the street. My guess was he was just throwing money at his car and said "wow, this drives like ****". I had a bucking problem with my L28ET after the 60MM TB. I ramped up the spring pressure on it and it went away. I had to push the clutch in to get my bucking to stop. A few of the forklifts have DBW throttles at work. They make my shins hurt from holding my foot up!
inline6
I have 4, 12" long, 2.5 ID Eibach springs in almost new condition. 2 are 200 lbs and the other 2 are 175 lbs. I don't recall what stock rates are, but these are a lot stiffer. I ran Suspension Techniques springs (popular kit from Motorsport Auto) back in the day for many years. These are stiffer than those too. Then, when I put in ground control coil over kits, I went to the 2.5 ID springs. I ran the 175, 200 combo for a short period of time, but that was when I was transitioning the car to mainly autocross and little street driving. So, I went even stiffer. I'm running 250 lbs front and 275 lbs rear. My car has pretty much been an autocross and track car for like 10 years now. PM me if interested in the springs.
