Zdriver92
Hey guys, just bought a 80 280ZX and whenever I start up the car it fires right up no problems but after I let it warm up for about 15 mins it slowly loses its idle and eventually just dies out. After that happens I cannot start it up until its cold again. Any ideas on what the problem could be? I would really appreciate any help : )
NewZed
Cylinder head temperature sensor (CHTS) maybe. Bad connection or faulty. See EF-26 in the FSM. www.xenons130.com/reference
jomz shakes
Ignition control module. It's mounted w 2 screws I think onto your distributor. Got on wire harness that it plugs onto. Put ice in a bag and cool down that part maybe to try and see if that's the problem.
warrenHLS3083301
put a voltmeter on your fuel pump, I have the same problem, found out the voltage was dropping due to my cheap alarm system, from 13.5 down to 9 when the system arms itself, takes a minute or two to drop. ps i have the z31 ecu swap and this reverses fuel pump polarity at the relay, never died before the upgrade.
