MazerRackham
My transmission makes a grinding noise that is absolutely heinous. I was hoping somebody could just hear what needs to be replaced. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWVFCglitB4 Edited July 1, 2012 by MazerRackham
NewZed
Is that grinding or just the shift lever rattling? Looks like the lever bushings might be gone, they're plastic and known to disintegrate.

Looks like the lever bushings might be gone, they're plastic and known to disintegrate. May just be shift lever rattling. Good replacement bushing? I was reading about the brass ones but I've sourced replacement plastic ones for like 5 bucks. Let me know what the best in your experiences have been. Thank you! beermanpete
MSA has the nylon bushings. There are brass, aluminum, and nylon bushing on E-bay. Some people have used door hinge pin bushings. These are available at most auto part stores. Some minor mods to the bushings are required but the price is less.
