MazerRackham
The dude who has been helping me with my car has been really pissing me off insisting that the reason the car is running so rich/will not climb above 3,500 RPM in first gear is because the TPS is bad, but I'm pretty sure the timing is completely off Edited August 6, 2012 by MazerRackham
madkaw
So have you checked the TPS, isn't it just a simple ohms test? So have you checked your timing, isn't it just a timing light check? Not much info here for us to help- at least I'm in the dark here! This knd of rant doesn't do you any good- just makes you sound bad Edited August 6, 2012 by madkaw
clutchdust
Based on the info you have provided, start over. No way to tell without having more details about what you've done. I will agree that it is unlikely the TPS is bad if it worked fine immediately before removed and hasn't been run over by a truck or something. If you think it's timing the first thing I would do is rotate the engine over to the TDC mark on the balancer and pop off the distributor cap and see where the rotor lines up. Should be pretty damn close to the #1 terminal. But since you've said you had the head off, what did you do to verify the cam is timed correctly?
