S30Turbo
While I crank the engine over the ecu lights completely shuts off. Should I replace it ?
z240
Those lights in the ECU are diagnostics, not "power on" lights. Check the FSM for their intended function and how to read them.
cgsheen
While I crank the engine over the ecu lights completely shuts off. Should I replace it ? Nope. That's what it's supposed to do. +1 for getting and reading the FSM...
S30Turbo
I just read that I downloaded the manual. Is there a way to test the CRank angle sensor from a 81?
randy 77zt
The ecm probably has a wire that needs to be fed 12v while cranking.I have another 81zxt crank sensor.I think it is just 2 vr coils-1 that reads 90 teeth and 1 that reads the 3 steel teeth. On my 77 there was a plug under the steering column that had +12battery,+12v key+12v cranking
S30Turbo
So just re-wire that cable under the steering column to power the ecu?
