Guest Anonymous Posted May 18, 2000 Share Posted May 18, 2000 Has anyone (or does anyone know anyone) that has put the 90-96 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo motor (the VG30DETT) into an older Z? My friend has a 90 300ZXTT, and I love that car, but that engine looks very wide, what with the turbos hanging off either side. Can anyone steer me in the right direction with this thing? Owen Posted May 18, 2000 Share Posted May 18, 2000 The August 1997 issue of Turbo mag has an article with the VG30DETT engine into a 280Z. They said the installatio was "straight forward" but I would have nightmares about working on that engine! There was one at the MSA show too. maybe someone on zcar.com could help. Shoudl be able to get motor, trans and all support equipment for about $2500! Not really a bad deal, just plan to upgrade the turbos, waste gate and intercoolers... and of course an adjustable boost dial & Turbo timer.
