daddydonuts
My tranny grinds when trying to shift the transmission into reverse, all other gears shift smoothly. Is this an easy fix or is the tranny on its last leg?
Leon
Sounds normal to me, depending on the severity of the "grind". Reverse does not have a syncro. Hold the clutch longer before putting it in reverse or shift into another gear before reverse. Both methods slow the countershaft down so that the spur gear can engage smoother. OldAndyAndTheSea
1. Shift it into fourth 2. Drop the clutch slightly. 3. Clutch back in. 4. Proceed to now put the car into reverse. It'll drop in every time. Like Leon says, reverse has no syncro so sometimes it takes a little coaxing.

daddydonuts
Did the 4th gear drop and it went into reverse "better". I think Zmanco is correct about the clutch not disengaging. I just put the engine and transmission in a couple months ago and have not really driven it yet. I will adjust the slave cylinder and clutch pedal next. Leon
Bleed first, make sure all the air is out before trying to adjust.
