Rb280zx1978
Hello, I'm new here, I have some questions about rb swap into my 1981 280zx. I have an engine from a 1991 r32 rb20det. There's a guy parting out a nissan 200zr on Craig's list about 10 miles from me, I have read in some forums the cross member can be used to make my project a bolt in? Also he's asking 350 for the cross member and 100 for the trans mount is this a good price?
feifongwong3
It's basically bolt in as is. Seems that getting the crossmember would only complicate matters further. You don't need the crossmember and the stock s130 trans mount works.
Rb280zx1978
We have tried to bolt the engine in but the turbo hits the steering box on the frame, I read the 200zr cross member will pull the engine forward to clear. Is this true?
BluDestiny
You have the POS power steering with the box? That's why it doesn't work. It would be easier to just fabricate some kind of spacer to get some more clearance.
feifongwong3
Either that or just swap out to a manual steering rack. You'll end up with manual steering anyway. You might as well start look at electric over hydraulic power steering systems.
