clutchdust
Went to the junk yard yesterday and believe it or not, I found not only an early (1970) 240Z but also a near cherry 510 four door. The Z had pretty well been picked of all the loose stuff but I did stumble across a few emblems squirreled under the passenger's seat. I also got the combo switch, door handles and D/S headlight bucket (perfect steel bucket). I didn't get any parts off the 510 except I found a few badges. All for under $50. Whoohoo! _Donovan_
Nice find. I went to the junkyard recently because I knew they had 2 Datsuns there, a 240 and a 260 that I wanted to pick apart. I got there and apparently they just smashed them. Procrastination got me again, damn.
RebekahsZ
What is the bottom emblem off of? I like it and might change my 240z emblem to that one, since my car has parts from so many other models on it. Subscribed for reply.
emeraldlion
That bottom emblem is of the 510, just can't remember where. I think it's on the trunk/rear panel.
clutchdust
Yeah, all these emblems were loose. I don't know where the 510 emblems mount. Think I'm going to do a board in the garage wall with all the various badges. Add in some Corvette, T/A and maybe even a Rustang badge (if I can stand it). RebekahsZ
Yeah, I wanted to decorate the living room with a wainscoting made of old chrome off junkyard cars. You can imagine how far that plan got.
EvilC
clutchdust was the engine in the 240z?
clutchdust
clutchdust was the engine in the 240z? Yup. E31 head and block. Pulled the head off, I was going to buy it but they wanted a buck five for it and no warranty it wasn't cracked.
